On 22 April 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) paid a formal courtesy visit to FSupt. Ma. Theresa Alqueza, Fire Marshal of Valenzuela City. The delegation was led by President Gerald Uy Chan, joined by Executive Vice President Paul Yeung, Trade and Commerce Committee Vice Chairman Mason Ang, Welfare Committee Vice Chairman Eduardo Tan, and Organizational Committee Vice Chairman Robert Ong Jr.

Held at the Valenzuela City Fire Station, the meeting reaffirmed CFBCI’s commitment to supporting government-led programs, particularly those focused on public safety, disaster preparedness, and community resilience.

President Chan opened the discussion by introducing the attending officers and their respective businesses operating within Valenzuela City. He also conveyed the organization’s appreciation for its enduring partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). In response, FSupt. Alqueza acknowledged CFBCI’s continued collaboration and its proactive support for fire prevention initiatives.

FSupt. Alqueza noted that Valenzuela City is home to at least 20,000 commercial establishments, all of which are strongly encouraged to comply with fire safety standards and prevention regulations. She emphasized that safeguarding communities from fire risks depends on sustained communication and strong partnership between the BFP and the business sector.

The Fire Marshal further underscored that non-compliance with minimum fire safety standards significantly increases the risk and severity of fire incidents, endangering lives and causing greater property loss. She also provided guidance on incorporating clear fire safety provisions in contracts of lease, ensuring that both lessors and lessees fulfill their respective obligations.

CFBCI officers expressed appreciation for the Fire Marshal’s time and insights, particularly in addressing fire-related concerns of the business community. The meeting concluded with both parties engaging in constructive discussions on potential areas of collaboration, highlighting the value of sustained engagement between the BFP and local stakeholders.

The visit ended with an exchange of tokens, with CFBCI presenting a simple gift and its 14th Biennial National Convention souvenir magazine, while FSupt. Alqueza presented commemorative mugs to the delegation.

菲華工商總會訊：為進一步深化公私協作、築牢社區安全防線，本會於二零二六年四月二十二日（星期三）上午十時，由理事長曾國強親率執行副理事長楊良田、商務委員會副主任蔡長城、福利委員會副主任楊金豐、組織委員會副主任許清山，及西文秘書梅西卡等人，禮訪描仁瑞拉市消防局，受到局長Fire Superintendent Ma. Theresa A. Alqueza中校的熱情接待，雙方並進行深入交流。

在會談中，曾國強理事長介紹了本會同仁在描仁瑞拉市經營的企業情況，並對本會與消防署（Bureau of Fire Protection，簡稱BFP）長期建立的緊密關係表示肯定。曾理事長特別讚賞 Alqueza 局長上任以來，在內部紀律整頓、救災能力提升及跨界合作方面的卓越成效。他重申，本會將一如既往地秉持支持政府的立場，特別是在公共安全、災害防治及提升社區韌性等關鍵領域，持續貢獻工商界的橋樑作用，協助打造安全穩定的營商及投資環境。

Alqueza 局長對本會積極履行社會責任、推廣消防意識表示高度讚賞。她指出，描仁瑞拉市現擁有至少二萬家商業機構，嚴格遵守消防安全標準是企業生存之本。她強調，未達標的場所將面臨巨大的安全隱患，威脅人命與財產。為此，她特別建議企業在租賃合約中明確納入消防安全條款，落實租賃雙方的責任界定，從源頭堵住火災漏洞。

會談期間，雙方就未來合作方向進行深入且具建設性的交流，並一致認同持續強化政府部門與本會之間的溝通機制，對提升城市防災效率與應急能力具有重要意義。

活動結束前，雙方互贈紀念品並合影留念，在熱烈融洽的氣氛中圓滿結束。與會雙方均表示，將持續深化合作關係，加強交流互動，共同推動公共安全與城市防災體系之完善發展。
