On 18 June 2026, Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) President Gerald Uy Chan had the honor of leading the Pledge of Commitment during the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s (PLM) 2026 Kumustahan gathering with its valued donors and benefactors from various sectors.
Held at Casa Ibarra in Pasay City, the event underscored the strong partnership between PLM and private sector institutions, united in their mission to expand access to quality, inclusive, and transformative education for Filipino youth.
Representing CFBCI alongside President Chan were Director Richard Yao and Education Committee Vice Chairman Linda Lao. In recognition of the organization’s unwavering support, PLM presented a special token of appreciation to CFBCI, which remains one of its trusted scholarship partners. Currently, CFBCI supports 20 PLM students through financial assistance and holistic development programs under its educational initiatives.
The following day, 19 June 2026, CFBCI participated in the Thanksgiving Concert of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila as part of the university’s 61st Founding Anniversary celebration.
Held at the historic Manila Metropolitan Theater, the concert showcased the exceptional talents of PLM students and faculty through a series of remarkable performances. The occasion also served as an opportunity to honor the university’s longstanding partners and benefactors, including CFBCI. Since 2009, the organization has been supporting deserving PLM students through its flagship Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program.
The recognition was received by Education Committee Vice Chairman Linda Lao and Organizational Committee Vice Chairman Robert Ong Jr., while Plenary Member Jefferson Cheng also attended the celebration. As a symbol of the enduring partnership between the two institutions, CFBCI was likewise presented with a commemorative token by PLM.
Through these engagements, CFBCI reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders and professionals by investing in education and creating opportunities that help students achieve their aspirations.
