On 29 June 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), led by President Gerald Uy Chan, was conferred a Special Recognition by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon (Region III) in recognition of the organization’s unwavering support for the Bureau’s humanitarian initiatives and emergency response efforts across Luzon.
The recognition follows CFBCI’s immediate response to the tragic incident in Balibago, Angeles City, Pampanga, where the organization was among the first to extend assistance to BFP personnel, local fire officials, and volunteer responders deployed on the ground.
In line with its commitment to humanitarian service, CFBCI launched Operation Brotherhood: “Distribution of Bayanihan Meals for Rescue Volunteers in Angeles City, Pampanga" on 01 June 2026 at the Incident Command Post (Ground Zero), providing meals to firefighters, rescue volunteers, and emergency personnel who had been working tirelessly throughout the operation. President Chan also generously provided free hotel accommodation to the rescuers and volunteers during the retrieval operations.
The success of the initiative was made possible through the collective efforts of CFBCI’s partners. CFBCI extends its sincere appreciation to the Angeles City Local Government Unit, BFP, Valentinos Hotel Premier, Gerry’s Grill Sta. Maria, and the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) for their invaluable collaboration and shared commitment to serving those on the front lines during a time of crisis.
CFBCI likewise expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the BFP Central Luzon, under the leadership of FSSupt. Bernard T. Rosete, Acting Regional Director, for conferring this Special Recognition in acknowledgment of CFBCI’s selfless service and steadfast support for the Bureau’s programs, initiatives, and humanitarian efforts. The recognition serves as an inspiration for the organization to continue strengthening its partnerships with government institutions and civic organizations in pursuit of meaningful community service.
Through sustained collaboration, compassion, and volunteerism, CFBCI reaffirms its commitment to fostering resilience, promoting the spirit of bayanihan, and extending assistance to communities, especially during times of disaster and crisis.
