CFBCI holds dialogue with Valenzuela LGU

On 13 October 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), led by President Gerald Uy Chan, held a productive dialogue with key department heads of the Valenzuela City Local Government Unit (LGU) to discuss pressing concerns affecting the city’s business sector. The meeting provided an opportunity for CFBCI officers and members to raise issues encountered by local businesses and explore possible solutions in coordination with the city government. The engagement also underscored CFBCI’s continuing commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships and supporting initiatives that promote a more conducive business environment.

At 1:00 PM, CFBCI officers and members arrived at Valenzuela City Hall for an in-depth discussion on several pressing concerns, particularly the implementation of the truck ban, business permit applications and renewals, and the recurring challenges posed by flooding and ongoing road construction projects. CFBCI engaged PMAJ Loida M. Bondoc, Officer-in-Charge of the Public Safety Division, to discuss possible measures to address these concerns, including the proposal of designated window hours for trucks to improve the movement of goods while considering public safety and traffic management.

The dialogue also involved Ms. Dorothy Go-Evangelista, Head of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO); Ms. Gina Aquino, Head of Building Administration and Maintenance; and Atty. Larina D. San Diego, Head of the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO). CFBCI officers and members raised relevant questions and shared observations regarding the challenges faced by the business community. The participating department heads provided substantive responses and clarifications, helping identify areas for further coordination and potential improvements in local policies and public services. The concerns discussed are expected to be relayed to Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian for appropriate consideration and action.

Following the discussion, CFBCI conducted the ceremonial turnover of 100 Philippine flags and 100 raincoats for the benefit of Valenzuela City’s traffic enforcers. The donation aims to support personnel in carrying out their duties, particularly in maintaining orderly traffic flow and assisting motorists and pedestrians under varying weather conditions. This initiative reflects the organization’s recognition of the vital role traffic enforcers play in ensuring public safety and efficient city operations.

The donation also builds on CFBCI’s continuing efforts to support public service institutions in Valenzuela City. On 20 May 2026, CFBCI formally turned over a reloading machine to the PNP Valenzuela City Police Station to support its operational needs. Subsequently, on 21 September 2026, the organization donated twenty (20) computer sets and three (3) printer units to the Valenzuela City Central Fire Station to strengthen its administrative and operational capabilities. Together with its latest donation of Philippine flags and raincoats for the city’s traffic enforcers, these initiatives demonstrate CFBCI’s sustained commitment to assisting local government agencies and enhancing their capacity to serve and protect the community.

CFBCI expressed its appreciation to the Valenzuela City LGU and the participating department heads for their time, cooperation, and constructive engagement. Through continued dialogue, strategic partnerships, and community-oriented initiatives, CFBCI remains committed to serving as a bridge between the business sector and local government. By advocating practical solutions to shared concerns and extending support to public service personnel, the organization seeks to contribute to a more business-friendly environment, stronger public institutions, and the continued development and welfare of Valenzuela City.
