CFBCI CONDUCTS HANDOG BALIK-ESKWELA PROJECT IN NAVOTAS, DISTRIBUTES SCHOOL KITS TO THREE SCHOOLS

On 18 June 2026, officers and members of the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), led by President Gerald Uy Chan, visited Navotas City to conduct the official distribution of school kits to learners from three public elementary schools. The turnover ceremony was attended by key city officials, including Congressman Toby Tiangco, Mayor John Rey Tiangco, and Vice Mayor Tito Sanchez, underscoring the strong partnership between the local government and the private sector in advancing educational welfare.

Representing CFBCI during the activity were Vice President Willy Chuakimtong, Director Gregorio Lagamayo, Director Stella Lim, Welfare Committee Vice Chairman Eduardo Tan, Welfare Committee Vice Chairman Ramon Wong, Policy and Regulation Committee Vice Chairman Carlos Ong, Plenary Member Stewart Lim, and Member Jolly Pytingco.

This year, CFBCI implemented this project in cooperation with the SQI Group International Corporation led by Vice Chairman Ong. This partnership reflects the two organizations’ collective commitment to supporting communities through meaningful and impactful initiatives.

The turnover program commenced at 9:00 a.m. at Tangos I Elementary School, followed by the distribution of school kits at Wawa Elementary School and Tangos Elementary School. This year, CFBCI provided a total of 750 school kits to Grade 4 learners across the three schools. Each kit contained grade level-appropriate educational supplies, including pad paper, notebooks, crayons, ballpens, pencils, erasers, rulers, sharpeners, and bond paper — essential learning materials intended to assist students as they begin the new academic year.

“Perhaps, one of the best ways to help improve our society is by ensuring that our youth receive sufficient support in their educational journey. Now that classes have resumed, we must ensure that our pupils have proper school supplies, not only for their welfare, but also to encourage and motivate them to attend their classes,” President Chan remarked.

CFBCI was likewise honored to hear the messages delivered by Congressman Tiangco and Mayor Tiangco, who conveyed the appreciation of the people of Navotas for the organization’s continuing efforts to serve the city. Over the years, CFBCI has undertaken several collaborative projects in Navotas, including the donation of mountain bikes and helmets to the Navotas City Police to enhance mobility and public safety operations, as well as the recent distribution of relief packs to landfill workers affected by a tragic fire incident.

As CFBCI continues to strengthen its outreach programs, the Handog Balik-Eskwela Project serves as a testament to the organization’s belief that education remains one of the most powerful tools for nation-building. By investing in the needs of young learners and fostering meaningful partnerships with local governments, CFBCI reaffirms its commitment to empowering communities, uplifting future generations, and creating lasting opportunities for progress and development.
