CFBCI visits San Juan City Mayor, donates Philippine flags and raincoats for local law and traffic enforcers

On 09 June 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) visited the office of San Juan City Mayor Francisco Javier M. Zamora to facilitate the official turnover of Philippine flags and raincoat donations.

On behalf of CFBCI, Executive Vice President Paul Yeung and other officers attended the ceremony, namely: Director Stella Lim, Director Robert Chua, Director Ellen Martines, External Committee Vice Chairman Eduardo Tiu, Trade and Commerce Committee Vice Chairman Jack Wong, Education Committee Vice Chairman Willy Zapata, Welfare Committee Vice Chairman Wilson Dionisio, Plenary Member Nixon Co, and Plenary Member Aldwin Tan.

During CFBCI’s courtesy meeting with Mayor Zamora, our officers and members were able to gain insights into the city’s current efforts to promote citizen welfare, maintain its low crime rate, and facilitate a business-friendly environment for entrepreneurs. “It’s not just about the revenue, we also strive to make our people happy,” said Mayor Zamora, highlighting the importance of balancing economic development and promotion of citizen well-being.

Moreover, Mayor Zamora also expressed his utmost appreciation for the enthusiasm of CFBCI to collaborate with local government units in fostering positive change in our society. “The government cannot do it alone,” he said, further encouraging the private sector to continue its partnership with the government.

After the successful courtesy visit, CFBCI officers, led by Executive Vice President Paul Yeung, visited the NHCP Museo El Deposito, one of San Juan’s heritage sites situated within the grounds of the Pinaglabanan Shrine. Made of volcanic tuff, the underground reservoir held water pumped from Santolan before it flowed to various fountains and hydrants in Manila. It was part of the larger Carriedo waterworks designed by Spanish engineer Genaro Palacios and built from 1878 to 1882.

CFBCI is grateful for this opportunity to converse with the Mayor himself, who proudly shared about the city’s present and future initiatives to further promote the welfare of citizens. We are also glad to capture a glimpse of the city’s rich history.
