On 05 June 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), led by President Gerald Uy Chan, formally donated one hundred (100) Philippine flags and one hundred (100) raincoats to the City Government of Pasay. The turnover ceremony was graciously hosted by Pasay City Mayor Hon. Imelda Gallardo Calixto-Rubiano and attended by CFBCI Executive Vice President Paul Yeung, Director Jimmy Ang, Director Stella Lim, together with other officers and members of the organization. The official turnover was held at the Office of the City Mayor in Pasay City Hall at 3:00 PM.
The donation was made in anticipation of the forthcoming celebration of the 128th National Independence Day. Through the turnover of Philippine flags, CFBCI sought to promote the display of the national flag in public offices and facilities across the city. As a symbol of the Filipino people’s resilience, unity, and enduring spirit, the Philippine flag serves as a constant reminder of the values that continue to inspire nation-building and civic responsibility.
CFBCI likewise donated one hundred (100) raincoats for the benefit of Pasay City’s law and traffic enforcers. The gesture was made in recognition of their unwavering dedication and invaluable service in maintaining public order, ensuring road safety, and facilitating the smooth flow of traffic, even under adverse weather conditions. Through this modest contribution, the organization hopes to support their protection and welfare as they faithfully carry out their duties in service of the community.
CFBCI expresses its sincere appreciation to Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano for accommodating the organization despite her busy schedule. The delegation was warmly received by the Mayor who has faithfully served the people of Pasay since 2019. Mr. Peter Eric D. Pardo, Chief of Staff of the Office of the City Mayor, likewise welcomed the delegation and conveyed the City Government’s openness to future collaboration with CFBCI on initiatives that would benefit the local community and business sector.
Beyond the ceremonial turnover, the meeting provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on areas of potential cooperation between CFBCI and the City Government of Pasay. Both parties recognized the importance of fostering a business-friendly environment that encourages entrepreneurship, attracts investments, and generates employment opportunities for local residents. The exchange underscored the shared commitment of the public and private sectors to advancing inclusive and sustainable economic growth within the city.
The discussion also highlighted the significant contributions of Chinese-Filipino entrepreneurs to Pasay City’s economic development. Through their investments, commercial enterprises, and longstanding engagement in trade and industry, Chinese-Filipino businessmen have helped stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and support the growth of local communities. As Pasay continues to strengthen its position as a major center for commerce, tourism, and investment, the Chinese-Filipino business community remains committed to partnering with the local government in advancing initiatives that promote innovation, competitiveness, and long-term prosperity.
CFBCI remains steadfast in its mission of building bridges between the business sector and government institutions while advancing programs that create opportunities for entrepreneurs and uplift local communities. The organization looks forward to deepening its partnership with the City Government of Pasay and contributing to initiatives that will further strengthen the city’s economic vitality and overall development.
