CFBCI DONATES RAINCOATS AND PHILIPPINE FLAGS TO QUEZON CITY 菲華工商總會禮訪計順市市長捐贈國旗與雨衣共促社區發展

On 28 May 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), under the leadership of President Gerald Uy Chan, formally donated Philippine flags and raincoats to Quezon City. The turnover ceremony was attended by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte and also served as an opportunity to discuss potential areas of collaboration between CFBCI and the City Government, particularly initiatives aimed at supporting local entrepreneurs.

The CFBCI delegation arrived at Quezon City Hall before nine o’clock in the morning to prepare for the ceremony. President Chan was accompanied by Executive Vice President Paul Yeung, Vice President William Rogando, and several officers and members of the organization. Upon receiving 100 Philippine flags and 100 raincoats intended for the City’s law and traffic enforcers, Mayor Belmonte expressed her gratitude for CFBCI’s generous contribution.

Also present during the ceremony were Joel Emmanuel Sumpaico, Head of the Investments and Promotion Division; Sheila Da Silva, Local Economic Development and Investment Promotions Officer; and Joel Distrajo, Officer-in-Charge of the Citizen Services Department.

In his remarks, President Chan highlighted CFBCI’s previous initiatives in Quezon City, including a tree-planting project, dengue prevention programs in schools, and the donation of medical supplies during the COVID-19 Pandemic. He also noted that Quezon City has become a convenient venue for CFBCI meetings and activities, as many of its members live and operate businesses in the city.

Following the turnover ceremony, CFBCI officers and members visited the Local Economic Investment Promotions Office and met with its department head, Jay Gatmaitan. Both parties expressed interest in further discussions on future collaborative initiatives.

The delegation also visited the “All Board Expo ’26 sa QC” at the nearby MICE Center, where they observed the large gathering of board game enthusiasts from Quezon City and neighboring areas. Reflecting on the City’s vibrant and growing community, Mayor Belmonte remarked, “There is more to explore here.”
