In cooperation with Tarlac Heritage Foundation, CFBCI initiated a project in support to President Duterte’s vision of providing immediate shelter and accommodation for soldiers displaced during the Marawi City attack in 2017.
50 units of huts made of bamboo and sawali were made in two weeks and were neatly arranged in rows on a 1.2 hectare land situated at Bito Baudi, Itowa village which became a community given the name Bahay Pagasa or House of Hope. Each house is powered by solar electricity with potable water. Within the community is a recreational area with a 50 inch television.
Due to the overwhelming presence and support from President Duterte, a second phase of Bahay Pagasa was launched in Marawi City, this time with 60 housing units. Each house is complete with kitchen, toilet and bath facilities and electricity.
