On 1 April 2026, His Excellency Jing Quan, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of the Philippines, led a flower-offering ceremony organized by the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association, Inc., honoring the martyrs of the 1937-1945 resistance against Japanese aggression.
The ceremony was solemnly held at the Manila Chinese Cemetery and was graced by representatives of various organizations, including the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI). On behalf of CFBCI, President Gerald Uy Chan, Executive Vice President Paul Yeung, and Director Ellen Martines participated in the ceremony.
The ceremony commenced with a moment of silence at the Philippine Chinese Anti-Japanese War Memorial Complex, followed by a flower-offering ceremony at the monument and other memorial sites within the cemetery. In his address, Ambassador Jing Quan emphasized the significance of Qingming Festival (Tomb Sweeping Day) as a time to honor ancestors and remember history, underscoring the need to safeguard peace, oppose militarism, and uphold the post-war international order.
Ambassador Jing Quan likewise highlighted the enduring relevance of the martyrs’ sacrifice amid ongoing global conflicts, calling for unity in advancing peace and justice. A representative of the war veterans recalled the shared struggle of Filipino and Chinese forces during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and urged future generations to preserve the spirit of resistance and strengthen bilateral friendship.
The ceremony concluded with Ambassador Jing Quan presenting financial assistance to the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. The event reaffirmed the Chinese-Filipino community’s commitment to honoring historical legacy, fostering unity, and promoting patriotism, while contributing to the advancement of regional peace and enduring Chinese-Filipino relations.
菲華工商總會訊：本會理事長曾國強偕同執行副理事長楊良田、董事施玲玲等，於四月一日（星期三）上午八時，應邀參加中國駐菲律濱大使館與菲律濱華僑善舉總會在馬尼拉市華僑義山所共同舉辦的清明節祭奠菲華抗日烈士活動。祭奠儀式由菲律濱華僑善舉總會董事長盧祖蔭擔任大會主席，中國駐菲律濱大使井泉閣下主祭。中國大使館外交官，菲律濱華僑抗日遊擊支隊（華支）老戰士呂水涯，華支後裔聯誼會會長李向昭，華社各主要社團負責人、華校代表及抗日烈士家屬均出席，共同緬懷革命先烈的英勇事蹟，場面莊嚴隆重。
儀式首先在華僑抗日烈士紀念堂舉行，全體與會者肅立默哀，隨後移師至菲律濱華僑抗日烈士紀念碑及義山內多處紀念設施前獻花致敬，寄託無限哀思與崇敬之情。
盧祖蔭在致詞中表示，清明節是中華民族慎終追遠的重要時節，紀念活動不僅是對先烈的緬懷，更是提醒後人珍惜來之不易的和平。他強調，歷史不容遺忘，應警惕軍國主義死灰復燃，反對任何破壞地區穩定的行為，並呼籲各界共同維護戰後國際秩序，促進區域與世界長遠和平。
井泉大使則指出，當前國際局勢依然動盪，戰爭與衝突頻仍，更顯抗日英烈犧牲精神的可貴。他呼籲各界銘記歷史、凝聚力量，持續推動和平與正義，並以民族復興的實現告慰先烈英靈。
曾參與菲律濱華僑抗日遊擊支隊（華支）的老戰士呂水涯亦在現場動情回顧當年與菲律濱人民並肩抗敵的歲月，讚揚先烈為民族尊嚴與自由所作出的巨大犧牲，並期勉後代傳承抗戰精神，深化中菲友誼。
活動尾聲，井泉大使代表中國駐菲律濱大使館向善舉總會及華支捐贈福利金，為本次紀念儀式劃下圓滿句點。
此次祭奠活動不僅彰顯菲華社會對歷史的尊重與責任，也進一步凝聚社群力量，傳承愛國精神，為推動區域和平與友好關係注入正能量。
