On 12 August 2026, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano, Mayor of Taguig City, to facilitate the official turnover of 100 Philippine flags and 100 raincoats for the benefit of the city’s local traffic enforcement officers.
Representing CFBCI, President Gerald Chan attended the courtesy meeting alongside Honorary Vice President Jocelyn Johanna See, Director Ellen Martines, Trade and Commerce Committee Vice Chairman Jack Wong, and Plenary Member Aldwin Tan.
The meeting was held at the Taguig Satellite Office located in SM Aura Tower in Bonifacio Global City. CFBCI officers were warmly welcomed by Mayor Cayetano, together with other city officials, namely Atty. Tes Veloso, Head of the City Bureau of Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO); Atty. Jackie Gan Cristobal, Chief of Staff; Ms. Chi Bocobo, Head of Tourism; and Mr. Prince Flojo, Policy Officer.
CFBCI President Chan commended the city’s modern, conducive, and functional satellite office, as well as its continuing efforts to modernize city infrastructure through partnerships with the private sector. With at least 1.3 million residents, Taguig City ranks as the fourth-largest city in the National Capital Region by population. Mayor Cayetano shared that the city continues to provide quality services to its citizens, including free school supplies for pupils, stipends for college students, and free maintenance medicines for the elderly.
Moreover, Mayor Cayetano shared the city’s “INVEST” scholarship program, under which medical students from the Top 10 medical schools in the country receive full support from the local government. In return, scholars are expected to serve their kababayans and contribute to the city’s healthcare workforce. She also highlighted the Lakeshore Development Project, which seeks to transform the city’s portion of Laguna de Bay into a scenic destination where residents can relax and spend quality time with their families.
The meeting served as a productive exchange of insights on further strengthening the city’s economy. CFBCI officers also gained valuable perspectives on the incentives currently offered by the city to attract businesses and investors. The courtesy visit concluded with the official turnover of the Philippine flags and raincoats from CFBCI. Mayor Cayetano assured that the donations would greatly benefit the city’s traffic enforcement force, particularly amid the ongoing rainy season.
