On 21 July 2026, the Chinese Filipino
Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) conducted two consecutive courtesy visits to FSSupt.
Robert D. Samillano Jr., Quezon City District Fire Marshal, and BGen.
Randy Glenn Q. Silvio, Director of the Quezon City Police District.
Representing the organization were President Gerald Uy Chan, Executive Vice
President Paul Yeung, Vice President William Rogando, Director Richard Yao,
Director Ellen Martines, and Organizational Committee member Robert Ong Jr.
At 9:00 a.m., the delegation visited the
Quezon City Fire District headquarters, where Fire Marshal Samillano
warmly welcomed the group. During the meeting, he shared the district’s plans
and priorities, particularly the proposed renovation of the Galas Fire
Substation. Prior to the discussion, President Chan conducted an ocular inspection
of the facility to assess its current condition and identify renovation
requirements, with improvements targeted for implementation within the next six
months.
In 2025, the Quezon City Fire District
was recognized as the “Best Fire District” for its exemplary leadership
and outstanding service. In support of its continued commitment to public
safety, CFBCI plans to spearhead the renovation of the aging Galas Fire
Substation, which requires structural repairs and repainting, in collaboration
with civic-minded organizations and private sector partners. Fire Marshal
Samillano expressed his appreciation for CFBCI’s unwavering commitment to
strengthening public-private partnerships and advancing community welfare.
At 11:00 a.m., the delegation proceeded
to Camp Caringal for a courtesy visit with Police District Director
BGen. Randy Glenn Q. Silvio. The Quezon City Police District was recently
recognized as the “Best District Police Office” during the PNP Day 2026
celebration, reflecting its excellence in law enforcement and public service.
During the meeting, BGen. Silvio presented several key initiatives, including
the “Damayan Fund,” a program that provides financial assistance to disadvantaged
families of police personnel and victims of crime.
BGen. Silvio underscored the vital role
of cooperation between law enforcement and the public in maintaining peace,
preventing crime, and ensuring accountability. He likewise emphasized the
importance of professionalism and compassion among police officers, encouraging
them to treat every complainant as they would a member of their own family.
“Ituring mong kamag-anak ang complainant,” he remarked. He further stressed
that meaningful institutional change begins with principled leadership, where
public officials consistently demonstrate integrity, accountability, and
genuine public service.
The two courtesy visits reaffirmed
CFBCI’s commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships with government
institutions that safeguard communities and uphold public welfare. Through
sustained collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Philippine
National Police, the organization remains dedicated to supporting initiatives
that strengthen public safety, enhance community resilience, and promote a
culture of service, integrity, and shared responsibility.
