On 19 August 2024, the Gregorio P. Uy and Lee Peng (GPULP) Scholarship Foundation hosted a ceremony in celebration of the admission of 24 new beneficiaries from Isabela State University, Philippine Normal University-Isabela, and Cagayan State University for Academic Year 2024-2025. The heartwarming ceremony hosted by Mr. Michael Sean Uy took place at Isabela State University Auditorium and was graced with the attendance of dignitaries from the local government, supportive members of Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), leaders of Kang Ha Uy Association, students, and their proud parents.

The ceremony formally began with the opening remarks delivered by Mr. Gregorio P. Uy, President of Century Venture Diesel Parts and Supply Corp. and co-founder of GPULP Scholarship Foundation. In his speech, Mr. Uy highlighted the mission of GPULPSF to provide assistance to less fortunate students not only in financial terms, but also in shaping them holistically into good citizens who will contribute in nation-building. Since its establishment in 2011, GPULPSF has been dedicated to empowering deserving students, breaking down barriers, and shaping future leaders.

Mr. Uy’s speech was followed by the presentation of the accomplishment report and presentation of graduates led by Ms. Anna Luz Aliangan, one of GPULP’s coordinators. This year, several excellent scholars from Isabela State University Echague and Cauayan Campuses and Cagayan State University were able to bring home Latin Honors. One graduated magna cum laude while 9 achieved their degrees cum laude, 7 of which are supported by its longstanding partner, CFBCI. Everyone applauded as an expression of utmost pride and admiration for the scholars’ hard work and unmatched passion to obtain their dream degrees.

Afterwards, Mr. Philip Salvador, a Batch 2022 alumnus from Isabela State University and is now a Certified Public Accountant, delivered a testimonial in front of the graduates and new scholars. In his short speech, expressed his immense gratitude to the Foundation for instilling discipline and excellence among them as scholars. He also shared his own experiences through which he realized that the journey towards success might be difficult, but it has always been worth it.

Furthermore, Dr. Nancy De Leon, Director for Extension and Training of Isabela State University Cauyan Cluster, also gave an inspirational message through which she expressed her great admiration towards GPULPSF’s commitment to provide holistic training to its scholars and encouraging them to dream big for their families and communities. Ms. Czarah Dy, City Administrator of Cauayan City, also gave a short message for the scholars where she congratulated the graduates and the new scholars and emphasized the importance of education in achieving a brighter future.

To seal off the event, Mr. Samuel Lee Uy, President of Ford Tractor Philippines and co-founder of GPULPSF, delivered the closing remarks. He first thanked all the people who made time to attend the special event. At the heart of his speech dedicated to the new scholars, Mr. Uy shared the acronym G-O-D: G – “give your best self and don’t compare yourself with others”; O – “observe school rules and obey your teachers and mentors”; and D – “develop your leadership skills”. He assured the new scholars that by abiding by these three tenets, they will definitely succeed and be able to conquer greater heights.

With a rich history of giving back to the Filipino community, GPULPSF’s mission has always been firm: to provide equal opportunities for students from underprivileged backgrounds. At present, this Foundation is able to send off 89 successful graduates, 36 of which accomplished their degree programs with Latin Honors, and 46 of which are already licensed professionals in their respective fields. Again, congratulations to the graduates and new scholars!

菲華工商總會訊：本會「點亮未來」助學方案，長期與依沙迷拉省「黃國棟、林春鳳教育基金會」（Gregorio P. Uy and Lee Peng簡稱GPULP）共同舉辦助學方案，惠及當地貧寒學子。今學年依沙迷拉省招收了廿四名新進受助生，並於八月十九日（星期一）假依沙迷拉省立大學禮堂舉辦迎新會。本會理事長黃書瑋（亦為「黃國棟、林春鳳教育基金會」創辦人之一），與該基金會董事長黃書企，卡瓦延市政府行政官Czarah Dy，依沙迷拉省立大學卡瓦延分校推廣與培訓主任Nancy De Leon博士及本會依沙迷拉地區常務理事許家璧、洪振山，理事黃柏凱，同仁黃金龍等出席典禮。

活動開始，由「黃國棟丶林春鳳教育基金會」董事長黃書企致歡迎詞，他表示，「黃國棟、林春鳳教育基金會」的成立宗旨，不僅是提供弱勢學子經濟上的援助，還要將學員們全面塑造成能對國家建設做出貢獻的好公民；他也指出，該基金會自二零一一年成立以來，已栽培出無數的學子，現如今都在各自領域成為佼佼者。

之後，依沙迷拉省立大學二零二二屆畢業學友 Philip Salvador（現為註冊會計師）向新學員發表感言，他表示非常感謝基金會為他們這些學員灌輸了紀律和培養他們的卓越感。他也分享了自己的學習經歷，從中他體會到邁向成功的道路可能會很艱辛，但只要堅持，總會得償所願。

此外，依沙迷拉省立大學卡瓦延分校推廣與培訓主任Nancy De Leon博士發表了鼓舞人心的致詞，她對本會「點亮未來」和「黃國棟丶林春鳳教育基金會」致力於為學員提供全面的培訓表示欽佩，並鼓勵學員們為自己的家庭和社區實現遠大的夢想。卡瓦延市政府行政官Czarah Dy女士也為學員們帶來了簡短的致詞，她強調了教育對於實現美好未來的重要性。

隨後，「黃國棟、林春鳳教育基金會」承辦人Anna Luz Alianagan在會中報告該基金會近年來的成效，並向大家一一介紹今年以優異成績畢業的學生。今年的優秀畢業生，分別在依沙迷拉省立大學（埃查格校區及卡瓦延校區）及加卡焉省立大學完成學業，有一位榮獲最大榮譽獎(Magna Cum Laude)，九位獲得榮譽獎(Cum Laude)，其中取得最大榮譽獎和六位榮譽獎學員是本會「點亮未來」助學方案的受助生。

本會理事長黃書瑋致閉幕詞，他首先感謝大家在百忙中撥冗出席活動，接著他以ＧＯＤ（上帝）的英文字母延伸出：Ｇ「展現最好的自己，不要與他人比較」；Ｏ「遵守校規，聽從導師的教導」；Ｄ「培養自己的領導能力」。勉勵本學年新收的廿四位受助生；他向新學員們表示，只要遵守以上三個原則，未來就一定能攀登高峰，取得成功。迎新會由本會青年企業委員會理事黃柏凱擔任司儀。

本會自二零零九年啓動「點亮未來」助學方案以來，向家境清寒的菲律濱學子，提供教育輔助，讓眾多有心向學卻因家境貧苦、沒有能力繼續進修的學子得以完成大學學業。至今十五年，共惠及六百多位學子，其中有四百多位已畢業，找到理想工作，擔負家庭重任，改善生活。目前本會「點亮未來」在大岷地區有一百零七名受助生，依沙迷拉及株藝牙佬地區有十名受助生，描東岸地區有八名受助生，共有一百廿五名。
