During the sixth stop of the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) Metro Manila Delegation in Bacolod City, the delegation was invited to visit the production facility of Merzci Pasalubong, a well-known Filipino pasalubong brand. On the morning of January 16, the delegation traveled to the Merzci factory accompanied by our Bacolod City Coordinator Alfredo Barcelona and Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. (BFCCCII) President Elbert Valencia. They were warmly received by Merzci founder, Jonathan Manuel T. Lo, together with Public Relations and Event Marketing Manager Femmy Lee A. Magbanua and their team, who personally guided the visitors through the facility.
During the tour, Mr. Lo introduced Merzci’s fully automated production system, highlighting its flagship products such as Piaya (sugar cookies), Napoleones, Biscocho, and various egg and fruit tarts. The Piaya production line alone has a daily capacity of approximately 150,000 pieces, supported by advanced temperature control and precision packaging technologies that ensure consistent quality and high efficiency. These modern processes enable the company to meet the strong demand of more than seventy branches nationwide while maintaining the traditional flavors that define the brand.
Mr. Lo shared Merzci’s entrepreneurial journey, from a small market stall to a nationwide enterprise, emphasizing the importance of integrating tradition with innovation to remain competitive. The delegation expressed admiration for the company’s rigorous quality control, innovative corporate culture, and its contribution to local economic development, recognizing Merzci as a model for the transformation of Chinese-owned enterprises. The visit concluded with Mr. Lo presenting each delegate with a Merzci Pasalubong gift box, for which President Samuel Uy and the delegation conveyed their sincere appreciation, marking the visit as both enriching and memorable.

菲華工商總會訊:本會第十四屆外埠巡迴訪問團第六站在描戈律市期間,受邀參訪當地知名伴手禮品牌Merzci Pasalubong(美滋食品公司) 生產工廠。
一月十六日(星期五)上午九時,巡訪團成員在本會當地理事洪宗華及描戈律菲華工商聯合會理事長鄭國仁等人的陪同下,驅車前往 Merzci工廠參訪。訪問團抵達時,受到該公司創辦人、同時也是在地僑社領袖盧遠強先生(Jonathan Manuel Lo) 和公關與活動行銷經理Femmy Lee A. Magbanua一行的熱情接待,並全程親自帶領訪問團成員深入生產一線,從現代化的 Piaya(糖餅)的全自動生產流程,均逐一詳細講解。
盧先生向團員解說,該公司的熱門伴手禮最著名的產品包括 Piaya(皮亞亞/糖餅),每日自動化產量達十五萬片,還有Napoleones(拿破崙千層酥)、Biscocho(脆餅)及各種口味的蛋塔與水果塔。生產線透過科技化的精確控溫與包裝技術,不僅能確保每一片糖餅的口感酥脆一致,更大幅提升了生產效能,以供應全菲超過七十家分店 的龐大需求。
參訪過程中,盧遠強先生分享了 Merzci 從市場小攤位發展至全菲數十家連鎖店的創業歷程與管理經驗。盧先生強調,唯有將傳統美味與現代化生產結合,華商企業才能在競爭激烈的市場中屹立不搖。
巡訪團成員近距離觀察了產品從麵糰成型、內餡填充到烘烤包裝的完整自動化循環,對該公司嚴謹的品質控管與創新的企業文化表示高度讚賞,認為這不僅是華商企業轉型升級的典範,更展現了菲華企業在推動地方經濟發展中的關鍵角色。
