On 16 September 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) held a courtesy meeting with Hon. Angela Lei “Chi" Ilagan Atienza, Vice Mayor of the City of Manila, at Vice Mayor’s Office, Manila City Hall. Then, on 18 September 2025, the organization personally visited the office of Hon. Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Mayor of the City of Manila. The engagement served as an avenue to strengthen the organization’s partnership with the local government and discuss areas of collaboration in support of inclusive development for Manileños.
On September 16, the meeting commenced at 1:00 PM with Vice Mayor Chi Atienza warmly welcoming the officers of the CFBCI, led by President Samuel Lee Uy. Joining him were Vice President Willy Chuakimtong, Vice Committee Chairman Ramon Cheng, and Vice Chairman Gregorio Lagamayo.
In her remarks, Vice Mayor Atienza expressed deep appreciation for CFBCI’s steadfast efforts in championing initiatives that uplift Filipino communities. She likewise acknowledged the organization’s vital role in promoting economic opportunities, supporting entrepreneurs, and extending assistance to grassroots sectors. Both parties were delighted to exchange views on projects that advance livelihood and the holistic well-being of Manila’s citizens.
“I don’t want to give them fish, I want to teach them how to catch fish,” Vice Mayor Atienza emphasized. She explained that beyond providing temporary aid, her priority is to equip people with skills, knowledge, and resources that empower them to sustain themselves over the long term. This philosophy reflects her focus on capacity-building and values-driven development for her constituents.
On September 18, the meeting with Mayor Isko Moreno began at 3:00 PM with President Samuel Lee Uy in attendance and other officers namely: Vice President Willy Chuakimtong, Director William Rogando, Vice Committee Chairman Ramon Cheng, Vice Committee Chairman Bruce Uy, Plenary Member Ramon Wong, and Plenary Member Direck Uy.
The productive discussion between the two parties centered on the reduced crime rate, cleaner and healthier city environment, and expedited process of business registration in Manila. Moreover, the Mayor proudly announced the registration of 3,000 new businesses in the city, paving the way for more employment opportunities and improved standard of living for Manileños.
“Nabuhay ang puso ng bayanihan sa Maynila,” Mayor Domagoso said, reflecting on the continuous support of local organizations and institutions in making Manila a better place to live in and to start a business at. For him, when people have better access to employment and basic needs such as healthcare, crimes will be lessened and the moral of the people will be restored.
The meeting concluded with CFBCI reaffirming its commitment to public-private collaboration and ensuring both public officials its all-out support to their upcoming initiatives.
菲華工商總會訊：本會為進一步強化與地方政府的合作關係，於二零二五年九月十六日及十八日，分別禮訪馬尼拉市副市長亞典沙（Vice Mayor Angela Lei “Chi” Ilagan Atienza）與市長莫仁諾（Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso）。雙方就促進馬尼拉市民福祉、推動經濟包容性成長、提升市政治理效率等議題進行深入交流，獲得市府高層的高度重視與積極回應。
九月十六日（星期二）下午一時，本會理事長黃書瑋率領副理事長蔡金東，文教委員會副主任許福星、莊南文，商務委員會副主任洪海濱，前往馬尼拉市政府，禮訪副市長亞典沙。受到亞典沙副市長親自接見並致以熱烈歡迎，並進行座談。
在交談中，亞典沙副市長表示對本會長年來在促進馬尼拉市經濟活絡、扶助基層創業、加強社會公益等多項領域的持續投入，表達高度肯定與由衷感謝。副市長提到「I don’t want to give them fish, I want to teach them how to catch fish（我不希望只給他們魚吃，而是要教他們如何釣魚）。」她強調，馬尼拉市政府將以技能培育、知識傳承與資源導入為重點，致力提升市民自我賦能與自立能力，並指出，這一理念與本會長期倡導的「能力建構與價值導向」發展路線高度契合，雙方在未來合作上擁有廣泛空間。
緊接著，於九月十八日（星期四）下午三時，黃書瑋理事長再度率領副理事長蔡金東，青年企業委員會主任杜祖蔭董事，文教委員會副主任莊南文，福利委員會副主任葉啟龍、理事王明雄，公共資訊委員會理事葉俊龍及同仁吳肇新，前往馬尼拉市政府禮訪市長莫仁諾，同樣受到市長的歡迎，雙方舉行會談，氣氛融洽，聚焦於馬尼拉市政府近年來的重要成果與未來施政重點，包括：持續下降的犯罪率、城市環境整潔改善、商業登記流程優化等。
莫仁諾市長在會中分享，截至目前已有超過三千家新創及中小企業順利完成登記，進一步擴大就業機會與提升市民生活品質。他強調：「Nabuhay ang puso ng bayanihan sa Maynila（馬尼拉的『互助精神』再次被喚醒）。」他認為，當市民能夠獲得穩定就業與基本公共服務，如醫療與教育，自然可降低社會治安問題，重建市民信心與向心力。
兩次會談中，理事長黃書瑋均鄭重表達對馬尼拉市政府施政願景的高度支持，並重申本會將持續發揮橋樑作用，深化政商合作機制，特別是在創業支持、技能培訓、就業促進、青年賦能及基層關懷等領域，提供全力協助。
