On 26 September 2024, at 4:00 p.m., the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) was represented by Vice President Antonio S. Tan and Director William Rogando in the ceremonial signing of Memorandum of Agreement with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). The ceremony was held at Silid Lakan-Dayang, NALLRC Bldg., PUP Manila, Mabini Campus.

The ceremony began with the overview of partnership between CFBCI and PUP led by Engr. Ana Liza R. Publico. Since its establishment in 2009, the CFBCI Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program has been catering to the financial needs of its beneficiaries from PUP and other state universities, while providing holistic training through its monthly Life Skills and Motivational Seminar (LSMS).

Subsequently, the ceremonial signing of agreement was held. On behalf of CFBCI, Vice President Antonio S. Tan and Director William Rogando signed the agreement. On behalf of PUP, Prof. Tomas O. Testor (Vice President for Student Affairs and Services) and Engr. Ana Liza R. Publico (Director of the Office of Scholarship and Financial Assistance) signed the agreement.

After the signing, a message of appreciation was delivered by Prof. Testor in which he expressed the immense gratitude of the educational institution for CFBCI’s continued assistance to its students. After 15 years of consistent support, the relationship between the two parties is finally formalized. This event would definitely encourage PUPians to study harder and maximize the opportunity given to them.

In turn, Vice President Antonio S. Tan gave a message of support emphasizing CFBCI’s commitment to provide financial support and holistic training to the students of PUP. Definitely, the signing of agreement would enhance the seamlessness of communication between the two parties and the submission of academic requirements on the part of the students.

Moreover, Vice President Tan affirmed that the best way to help the younger generation maximize their potential is by persuading them to belive in the power of education. At present, CFBCI is pleased to declare that its scholars are able to graduate with flying colors, land with decent and stable professions, and give back to their families and communities.

The ceremony was officially sealed off with the closing remarks from Mr. Leonel A. Enriquez (Chief for Private-Funded SFAP). He expressed the sincere gratitude of PUP for CFBCI’s generosity to the students of ‘Sintang Paaralan.’ PUP and CFBCI are now formally united in a common obligation to help and mentor the youth towards a brighter future. Refreshments were served after the ceremony.

菲華工商總會訊：本會副理事長陳華民、董事杜祖蔭及西文秘書梅西卡，於九月廿六日（星期四）下午四時，前往菲律濱理工大學（Polytechnic University of the Philippines簡稱PUP），代表本會與該學簽署合作備忘錄，旨在以本會「點亮未來」助學方案，援助該大學弱勢學生完成學業，且進一步強化本會與菲律濱理工大學的教育和文化交流。

活動首先由Ana Liza R. Publico主任向所有與會人士介紹了本會與菲律濱理工大學的長期合作關係，並表示，本會自二零零九年成立「點亮未來」助學方案以來，每年都提供獎學金名額予菲律濱理工大學和其它國立大學。她同時讚揚，本會為了培養「點亮未來」受助生全方位的成長，開闊學員們的心靈，讓他們吸收新知識，成為德才兼備的青年，每個月都會定期邀請學友會成員，以其專業擔任專題講座主講人，讓學員們受益匪淺。

接著舉辦簽約儀式，本會由副理事長、亦是文教委員會督導陳華民和董事、亦是青年企業委員會主任杜祖蔭代表簽署；菲律濱理工大學則由學生事務副校長Tomas O. Testor教授及獎學金和經濟援助辦公室主任Ana Liza R. Publico工程師代表簽署。

簽約儀式之後，Tomas O. Testor副校長代表菲律濱理工大學向本會表達感謝，並表示，經過十五年的一貫支持，雙方的關係終於正式確立，今天簽署這合作備忘錄，給予菲律濱理工大學學生很大的鼓勵，將促使獎學金受惠學生更加努力學習完成學業。

陳華民副理事長致詞時，除了表示本會「點亮未來」教育金承諾將繼續對菲律濱理工大學提供獎學金以外，並強調，簽署合作備忘錄將加強雙方之間的無縫隙溝通。他提到，幫助年輕一代最好的方式就是讓他們相信教育的力量；他也提到本會「點亮未來」受助生歷年來都以優異成績完成學業，找到穩定工作，開始回饋家庭和社會。

活動最後，陳華民副理事長贈送菲律濱理工大學本會二十週年紀念特刊，菲律濱理工大學獎學金和經濟援助辦公室私營贊助組組長Leonel A. Enriquez致閉幕詞，儀式在溫馨和諧的氣氛下圓滿結束。
