On February 2, 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) represented by President Stephen Sia, Executive Vice President Samuel Lee Uy, Vice President Paul Yeung, Vice President Willy Chua Kim Tong, Vice President Jocelyn Johanna See, and Vice Chairman Peter Chua, attended the Chinese New Year celebration hosted by His Excellency Huang Xillian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Philippines at the Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. And Vice President Sara Duterte each sent their warmest greetings through video and written messages, both of which emphasized their gratitude towards the enduring friendship between the Philippines and China. Various government officials also graced the event with their presence including Senator Chiz Escudero and Koko Pimentel, Special Envoy Benito Techico, Department of Finance Undersecretary Edita Tan, and other undersecretaries of national agencies.

More than 1,000 people, including ambassadors and heads of international organizations in the Philippines, members of Congress, heads of law enforcement agencies, local dignitaries, business and industry leaders, overseas Chinese leaders, representatives of schools, religious communities, and representatives of international schools were also present in the special gathering.

Ambassador Huang Xilian delivered a warm Lunar New Year message, extending his greetings to the Chinese people and Filipinos from all walks of life, and highlighting that China and the Philippines have a long history of friendship, and that treating each other with sincerity and mutual assistance has always been the goal of this relationship.

The evening was filled with a festive atmosphere created by the cacophony of drums and vibrant performances. CFBCI officers led by President Sia exchanged greetings with Ambassador Huang Xilian and other attendess, wishing them all a happy and abundant Chinese New Year.

菲華工商總會訊：中國駐菲律濱大使館於二月二日（星期五）下午，假馬加智市香格里拉大酒店舉辦甲辰年新春招待會，由大使黃溪連閣下親自主持。本會理事長謝國萬，執行副理事長黃書瑋，副理事長楊良田、蔡金東、施茵茵，常務理事蔡清景等人應邀出席。

菲律濱總統馬科斯、副總統莎拉分別以書面和視頻方式致賀；第一夫人麗莎，外交部代理部長多明戈，參議員皮門特爾、埃斯庫德羅，總統中國事務特使許智鈞、顏杰奇，財政部副部長艾迪塔，司法部副部長杜萊、卡迪茲，內政部副部長維拉努埃瓦，新聞部副部長巴雷爾、維拉拉瑪及各國駐菲使節和駐菲國際組織負責人，國會議員，執法單位首長，地方政要，工商界，僑界領袖，學校代表，宗教界，中資機構及留學生代表等千餘人歡聚一堂，共渡新春佳節。

黃溪連大使發表了熱情洋溢的新春致詞，向祖國人民和菲華各界人士致以新春祝福和節日問候，並表示，中菲友好交往歷史悠久，以誠相待，守望相助始終是主旋律；他也特別感謝在菲華僑華人、中資企業和新聞機構人員、留學生和志願者老師為促進中菲各領域交流合作，和增進中菲友好所做出的貢獻，期待大家繼續發揮橋樑和紐帶作用，為推動中菲關係健康穩定發展，深化兩國人民友誼貢獻更多智慧和力量。

多明戈代理外長則是在現場宣讀馬科斯總統的新春賀詞。馬科斯總統說，值此農曆新年，我謹代表菲律濱人民，向中國人民熱烈問候！農曆新年是中國朋友最隆重、最有意義的節日，有關慶祝活動以及中國文化和社會習俗早已融入菲文化中，菲將春節定為特別非工作假期就證明了這一點。在菲華人華僑是菲社會的重要成員，也是經濟支柱和文化多樣性的承載者，在菲國家建設中發揮著至關重要的作用。我們感激他們的貢獻，尊重他們的遺產，期待中國和中國朋友在未來的歲月裡能繼續為菲國家發展作出積極貢獻！

莎拉副總統透過視頻致詞，謹向全球各地，包括充滿活力的菲華社區和在菲的中國公民，致以最熱烈的農曆新年祝福，祝大家農曆新年快樂，事業興旺！龍年標誌著力量和新生，期盼能為所有人帶來健康、成功和新希望。在新年來臨之際，期待菲中兩國抓住機會強化紐帶，增進理解，共同努力創造人類和諧的未來。
當晚貴賓雲集，鑼鼓喧天，龍騰舞躍賀新春，除了有各式美酒佳餚，還有華校及表演團體所帶來的精彩歌舞表演節目，讓所有與會人士耳目一新，並感受到濃濃年節氛圍。本會領導同仁也和黃溪連大使及其他與會政商名流、僑界領袖互致問候，同祝新春快樂。
