On 29 September 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 n.n., the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) in collaboration with the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center facilitated a successful Blood Donation Drive at CFBCI Auditorium located at 8th floor of Sky 1 Tower in Binondo, Manila. CFBCI scholars, their family members, employees of CFBCI members/officers, and local citizens joined the charitable cause, exhibiting the spirit of brotherhood and compassion for others.

At 8:00 a.m., beneficiaries of the CFBCI Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program started to arrive at the CFBCI Auditorium to participate in the donation drive. Anticipating and were prepared to assist them were the 21 medical personnel and staff of the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center comprised of doctors, nurses, and interns. With utmost hospitality and expertise, they warmly accommodated the scholars in the process of donating their blood in benefit of our brothers and sisters in need.

To boost the morale of the scholars, President Samuel Lee Uy gave a short opening speech, expressing the utmost gratitude of the organization for their participation. President Uy also commended other participants coming from various backgrounds. “You become heroes today,” he said, praising the bravery and kindness of the donors. Afterwards, Dr. George Co Jr., Director of Chinese Gen, was also requested to give some remarks. Dr. Co also thanked the participants and shared that more and more people are in need of blood transfusion. Given the projected rise in cases of dengue during rainy season, supply of blood platelets shall be replenished. Efforts like this are hugely appreciated.

To further encourage the attendees, Mr. Matromanrey M. Castro, Nurse of Chinese Gen, explained the positive benefits of donating blood to our health. Donating blood reduces the risk of contracting cardiovascular diseases and stimulates blood cell production. According to research, donating blood also helps in reducing stress levels and improving our emotional well-being. Upon hearing these, the attendees applauded and looked forward to donating their blood.

Delicious warm ‘lugaw’ (Filipino porridge) with hard boiled egg and fruit juice packs were distributed to all the participants. Successful donors also took home commemorative mugs from Chinese Gen and two-kilogram rice packs from CFBCI, as gestures of appreciation for their support to the event. Before the clock strikes at 12:00 n.n., the donation drive successfully ended with plenty of bags of blood collected and to be deposited to Chinese Gen’s blood bank.

Looking back, CFBCI signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association, Inc. (PCCAI), the owner and operator of the Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center, on 10 July 2024. Hand in hand, these two organizations will continue to work harder to foster positive changes within and beyond the Filipino-Chinese community and fostering ethnic harmony between Filipinos and Tsinoys.

菲華工商總會訊：本會與菲律濱華僑善舉總會，於七月十日簽署醫療優惠備忘錄，同時商討的第一個合作項目，即是於九月廿九日（星期日）上午八時至中午十二時聯合中華崇仁總醫院暨醫療中心，假本會八樓禮堂舉行「捐血拯救生命」活動，吸引不少年輕族群前來捐血。本會特地準備了營養的菲式雞肉粥、水煮蛋及果汁飲料早餐給所有前來捐血的熱心人士；捐血成功者，即可領取本會與中華崇仁總醫院暨醫療中心所贈送的禮品一包，以資鼓勵。當天共有一百多人出席響應，場面熱烈。

本會理事長黃書瑋，常務顧問李柏林偕夫人林麗婉女士，執行副理事長曾國強，副理事長楊良田，董事曾煥眉，常務理事留牡丹、葉啟龍，理事許純維、吳仲漁、王明雄至現場關心及照料；中華崇仁總醫院則是由許自力醫師（Dr. George Co, Jr.）親自率領二十幾位醫療中心的醫護人員前來支援服務。本會秘書處蔡艷霞、吳宛盈、羅娜、梅西卡等人，現場協助醫護人員為捐血前的各項準備工作。

理事長黃書瑋致詞時表示，本會很榮幸能夠配合中華崇仁總醫院共同舉辦此次的捐血運動，並感謝所有撥冗前來捐血的「點亮未來」受助生、家屬，學友會成員及社會熱心人士。無論你是首捐族還是熱血族，都能成為愛的傳遞者！延續他人生命，你們都是真英雄！同時呼籲大家定期捐血，為有需要幫助的同胞貢獻愛心，打造善的正向循環。

許自力醫師致詞時指出，本國每逢雨季來臨，登革熱案例必定上升，各地血庫都將拉響警報，本次的捐血活動可說是及時雨；他代表中華崇仁總醫院由衷地感謝菲華工商總會成功號召了眾多熱血民眾，大家發揮熱心公益的精神，為血庫的穩定供應貢獻了一份力量，著實令人感動。

Matromanrey M. Castro護士向捐血者講解捐血的意義和注意事項，捐血除了能夠幫助別人，還能降低罹患心血管疾病的風險，並有助於降低血液黏稠性，減少血栓、梗塞、中風的形成。

捐血注意事項：年齡需為十七歲至六十五歲，男生體重五十公斤以上，女生體重四十五公斤以上。距離前一次捐血，捐250c.c.需間隔兩個月，捐500c.c.需間隔三個月。前一天勿熬夜，當天吃完早餐、攜帶有照片之證件，在捐血前填寫捐血登記表格內有關健康、生活習慣及旅遊紀錄的問題，通過血紅素測試和護士健康諮詢後，再接受體溫及血壓量度，如一切正常即可捐血。
