On 31 May 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), in partnership with Table Tennis Association for National Development (TATAND), Lucky Chinatown, Chinatown TV, and CHiNOY TV, successfully held the Opening Ceremony of the “2025 CFBCI Table Tennis Cup” at Lucky Chinatown Atrium. This year, a total of 292 table tennis players have participated in the competition, including those from China, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests namely: Mr. Jefferson Lau, Councilor-Elect of the 3rd District of Manila and Chairman of the Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization; Ms. Natalie Sia, President of the Filipino-Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation; Ms. Norico Mizoguchi, General Manager of Lucky Chinatown; and Mr. Marcos De Jesus, President of TATAND. The honorary presidents of TATAND also joined the opening ceremony, namely: Mr. Charlie Lim, Mr. Philip Uy, and Mr. Joey Sy.
In his welcome address, Mr. Samuel Lee Uy, President of CFBCI, expressed the gratitude of the organization to those who have contributed to organize the tournament in its 13th year. At the same time, he also shared the touching story of Iraqi disabled table tennis player Najla Imad Lafta, who struggled against all odds and won the gold medal at the Paris 2004 Paralympic Games, encouraging the young athletes to work hard and pierce through challenges towards their dreams.
Mr. Paul Yeung, Vice President of CFBCI, spearheaded the oath of sportsmanship while Mr. Uy led the declaration of the official opening of the games. Other CFBCI officers and members also attended the event, namely: Mr. Teps Salvador, Vice Chairman; Mr. Ramon Cheng, Vice Chairman; Mr. Bruce Uy, Vice Chairman; Mr. Bernardo Ngo, Plenary Member; and Mr. Nixon Co, Plenary Member. The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Mex Bausa, English Secretary of CFBCI.
CFBCI will continue its advocacy to promote and deepen the mutually benefitting friendship between the Philippines and China. Together, let us forge a brighter future for the younger generations!
菲華工商總會訊：本會為慶祝菲中建交五十週年暨第廿四屆菲中友誼日，聯合菲華乒乓聯合會、美加廣場，以及媒體合作夥伴菲中電視台、菲華電視台，於五月三十一日（星期六）上午，假岷市華人區美加廣場中庭，隆重舉行二零二五年《工商盃》桌球邀請賽開幕儀式，透過體育競賽促進菲中友誼，展現華社團結與對社會公益的熱忱，獲得各界熱烈迴響。
本會自二零零九年至今，定期舉辦《工商盃》桌球邀請賽，今年已是十三屆，深受華社及菲律濱體壇好評，成為華社年度體育盛事。本屆賽事為期兩天，分為公開組(Open)、業餘組(Non-Rank)及宿將組(Executive)，吸引近三百名國內外桌球好手參賽，除了本地華校與各大院校球隊外，更有來自中國、馬來西亞和印尼等國的優秀選手踴躍參與，菲中體育交流更加緊密。
開幕典禮當天，華人區描籠涯協會主席、岷市第三區候任市議員劉少強、菲華體育總會理事長佘怡靜、美加廣場總經理Norico Mizoguchi蒞臨致詞，肯定本會多年來致力推動菲中友誼及社區公益的貢獻。菲華乒乓聯合會理事長賴謀羽，名譽理事長林海利、黃承嶺等親臨現場，共襄盛舉，為球員們加油打氣。
本會理事長黃書瑋在致詞時，特別感謝各界單位與人士的大力支持，並勉勵參賽選手以堅毅精神面對挑戰。同時分享伊拉克殘障桌球女將Najla Imad Lafta從逆境中奮發、勇奪二零二四巴黎帕運金牌的感人故事，鼓勵青年選手堅持夢想，超越自我，並珍惜身邊教練與家人的扶持，展現體育精神與人文情懷。
活動當天，由林海利及本會西文秘書梅西卡擔任司儀，介紹貴賓與參賽隊伍，副理事長楊良田帶領參賽運動員宣誓，理事長黃書瑋宣佈比賽正式開始。隨後由出席貴賓和本會領導人，分別主持開球儀式。
出席開幕儀式的本會領導同仁包括有：理事長黃書瑋，副理事長楊良田，立案秘書吳恆利，常務理事吳治平、莊南文、葉啟龍，以及理事吳仲漁、許純維等，大家展現本會團隊對體育發展、菲中友誼及社區服務的堅定支持。
本會將持續透過多元文化、體育及公益活動，深化菲中人民情誼，並推動社會和諧與共融，攜手建設更美好的未來。
