Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) President Samuel Lee Uy together with other officers and members of the organization, led more than a hundred of the Pagharap sa Pangarap College scholars, at the Manila Chinese New Year Golden Parade on January 29, 2025. The parade was jointly organized by the City Government of Manila, Manila Chinatown Development Council, Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization, and the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and His Excellency Huang Xilian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China in the Philippines, rode on the first float that was followed by a 40-member fleet of prominent associations in the Filipino-Chinese community. From Manila Post Office Building, the parade crossed through major streets of Manila Chinatown, with loud and lively music and dragon and lion dances.
The vibrant parade concluded at Lucky Chinatown where the floats distributed ang paos, candies, tikoys, t-shirts, and fans to the public. The Chinoy community deeply appreciated the tens of thousands of people from all ages and walks of life who came to witness the parade, and wished everyone peace and prosperity in the Year of the Wood Snake.
CFBCI had two colorful floats, intricately adorned with Chinese lanterns, snakes, fans, flowers, and the official emblem of the “50th Year of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between the Philippines and China," all of which were skillfully designed by the scholars of its Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program.
Their hard work paid off as a large number of spectators took photos of the floats, with some even published by the mainstream media such as Philippine Star and Daily Tribune. Two of the scholars were also interviewed by Bilyonaryo News Channel before the parade.
菲華工商總會訊：本會理事長黃書瑋偕同副理事長蔡金東，董事杜祖蔭，立案秘書吳恆利，常務理事許福星、林文龍、莊南文、留牡丹，理事楊錦程、王明雄、佘玲玲、梁清江等人，帶領一百多位「點亮未來」受助生，於一月廿九日（星期三）下午二時參加由馬尼拉市政府、馬尼拉市華人區發展委員會、馬尼拉華人區描籠涯組織及菲中愛心基金等單位所共同舉辦的乙巳蛇年春節華人區花車巡遊活動，外國及本地遊客聞名而來，兩百萬民眾聚集在華人區，共同慶祝這一年一度的春節巡遊盛會。
當天下午馬尼拉市市長拉古那與中國駐菲特命全權大使黃溪連閣下等乘坐首輛花車，馬尼拉市府官員，及華社主要團體，總共有四十餘輛花車參與巡遊，車隊在舞龍舞獅鑼鼓聲中及消防車的開道下從菲律濱郵政總局大樓前出發，延路經過：瓊斯大橋、王彬街、亞倫素街、樹日街等華人區主要街道，終點在美加廣場結束，沿路向民眾拜年，分發紅包、糖果、甜稞，Ｔ恤、扇子等，吸引了數以萬計的民眾蜂擁而至，到處人山人海，聲勢浩大，盛況空前。參加的民眾男女老少個個歡心雀躍，收獲滿滿，感受到來自華社的溫暖。祝願大家乙巳蛇年「巳巳」如意。
本會兩輛花車均由「點亮未來」助學方案的受助生所精心設計及佈置，花車以五彩繽紛的蛇形圖案搭配菲中友誼五十週年徽章作為主軸，吸引了大批民眾在花車前留影，圖片被刊於主流媒體菲律濱星報網路新聞及Daily Tribune新聞。同時本會「點亮未來」受助生亦接受Bilyonaryo News Channel電台現場採訪。
