Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CBFCI) President Stephen Sia, Executive Vice President Samuel Lee Uy, and Corporate Secretary Henry Go attended the 96th Anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on the evening of July 26th at the Chinese Embassy of the Philippines at the Shangri-La Hotel, Ortigas.
Mr. Huang Xilian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Philippines, and officials of the Embassy also attended the reception. Ambassador Huang, Embassy Attaché Li Jianzhong and Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines General Romeo Brawner Jr. delivered speeches respectively.
Several hundred people attended the reception, including the former Defense Secretary of the Philippines Delfin Lorenzana and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Benjamin Casuga Acorda Jr. and other Filipino military and political dignitaries, representatives of embassies and military attachés of other countries in the Philippines, politicians and businessmen from all walks of life in the country, leaders of major organizations of the Chinese community, as well as members of the media.
Ambassador Xilian said in his speech that China has always adhered to the five basic principles of peaceful coexistence and actively promoted the construction of a common destiny of mankind. Since President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative,
China has taken these three initiatives as solutions to promote world development and human progress. China has always pursued a defensive national defense policy, advocating dialogue to promote cooperation, cooperation to promote peace, and peaceful ways to deal with disputes, Huang said.

黃溪連大使在致詞時表示，中國始終奉行和平共處五項基本原則，積極推動建設人類命運共同體。自從中國國家主席習近平提出全球發展倡議、全球安全倡議和全球文明倡議以來，中國就把這三大倡議作為推動世界發展和人類進步的方案。黃溪連說，中國始終奉行防禦性國防政策，倡導通過對話推動合作，通過合作推動和平，通過和平方式處理爭端。
