On 25 September 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) visited the province of Batangas to attend the official turnover of donated sports materials in benefit of the pupils of Alupay Elementary School in Rosario, Batangas. After the turnover ceremony, the delegation headed to Batangas City for the turnover of galvanized iron (GI) sheets for the repair of the roofs of classrooms in two schools affected by a strong typhoon back in 2020.

On behalf of CFBCI, President Samuel Lee Uy who is also the President of Ford Tractor Philippines, Inc., Vice President Jocelyn See, Director Willy Chion Wong, Vice Chairman Jack Co, Vice Chairman Jimmy Almerino, Vice Chairman Nathalie Wong, Vice Chairman Jason Li, Plenary Member Teresa Co, and English Secretary Mexica Bausa met the schools’ representatives at the Kingsun Hardware & Construction Supplies for the turnover of the materials.

CFBCI was pleased to meet Ms. Elizabeth Arellano, Principal of Dela Paz Elementary School, and Ms. Marilyn Dela Rosa, Principal of Talahib Pandayan Elementary School, who were both beaming with immense gratitude for the help extended by the organization and the agricultural machinery company. According to them, their classrooms were severely damaged by Typhoon Rolly way back in 2020, but were not reconstructed due to lack of funding. In Dela Paz Elementary School, the Principal’s Office, Kindergarten Room, and the Library are in immediate need of repair as their teachers and students had to endure the challenge of protecting their school materials during rainy days.

With the hopes of reconstructing the classrooms, the school’s Parent-Teacher Association led by Mr. Jeffrey Macalalad organized a small pageant competition, Mr. & Ms. Brigada Eskwela – Parents’ Edition, to garner sufficient funds for the construction. Through the help of Ford Tractor Phils. Inc. and CFBCI, the two schools had one less spending to worry about. To express their gratitude, the two schools awarded CFBCI and Ford Tractor Phils. Inc., certificates of appreciation.

菲華工商總會訊：本會領導同仁於九月廿五日（星期三）上午驅車前往描東岸省羅沙溜市（Rosario, Batangas）向阿露百公立小學（Alupay Elementary School）捐贈一批體育設備予該校，藉以豐富鄉村學子們的課餘生活。下午本會聯合理事長黃書瑋所屬菲律濱福特拖拉機公司（Ford Tractor Philippines, Inc.）赴描東岸市Kingsun 五金和建築用品店，向Dela Paz公立小學校長Elizabeth Arellano及Talahib Pandayan公立小學校長Marilyn Dela Rosa移交鋅板等建築材料，幫忙兩所公立小學修繕被颱風摧毀的屋頂。

今年八月的理事會議，本會描東岸地區董事黃志安發來該兩所公立學校的訴情函及圖片，由於校舍老舊，又於二零二零年十一月受到颱風「天鵝」（國際正式名稱：Goni、菲律濱稱為：Rolly）強風襲擊，屋頂毀壞嚴重，學校因長期經費不足，至今尚未完成維修工作，影響學生正常上課。本會聞訊，同仁皆感到很驚訝，特別是理事長黃書瑋，感到很不可思議，更動了惻隱之心，最終決定由本會聯合菲律濱福特拖拉機公司(Ford Tractor, Philippines, Inc. )，共同捐贈鋅板等建築材料，幫助兩所公立學校早日得以維修受損的屋頂。本會隨即將任務交予描東岸地區董事、亦是福利委員會主任黃志安負責在當地購置材料，並安排日期和時間舉行移交儀式。

移交當天，Elizabeth Arellano及Marilyn Dela Rosa兩位校長笑逐顏開，如釋重負，衷心感謝本會領導同仁及菲律濱福特拖拉機公司負責人的善心義舉，並表示，雖然兩所學校的家長教師協會這幾年都曾多次舉辦募款活動，但是所募得的金額不盡理想，無法達到維修全額；此次本會與菲律濱福特拖拉機公司所捐贈的鋅板等建築材料可說是及時雨，校舍屋頂終有望在近期完工。

最後，Dela Paz公立小學及Talahib Pandayan公立小學頒贈感謝狀予本會和菲律濱福特拖拉機公司，並由理事長黃書瑋代表接受。

前往移交的本會領導同仁有：理事長黃書瑋，副理事長施茵茵，董事黃志安、常務理事許建陽、柯吉平、楊榮輝及西文秘書梅西卡等。
