The Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) is pleased to announce that CFBCI Board of Directors’ President Stephen Sia, Vice Chairmen Gerald Chan, Henry Lo Lim, and Jocelyn See were invited by the Manila Hotel to attend the exclusive launch of the “The Manila Hotel: Heart of the Philippines" coffee table book.

The event was held at the Presidential Suite of the Manila Hotel in the afternoon of Wednesday, August 30th, as part of the celebration of the 111th anniversary of the hotel.

The 162-page illustrated commemorative issue was carefully edited to showcase the hotel’s history and accomplishments over the past 100 years and to reveal the architectural splendor of Manila and beyond, complemented by anecdotes of notable personalities who have graced the hotel over the decades, sharing their cherished memories and visions of the hotel, and evoking nostalgia among readers of all ages.

The Manila Hotel is the oldest five-star hotel in the country, having witnessed the changing times in the Philippines for more than a century. It is the cultural and historical center of Manila City, having hosted many of the world’s most prominent politicians and businessmen, having been baptized by war and having gone through different regime changes, and still standing by the shores of Manila Bay. At present, it serves as the best testimony to the country’s modern history.

The launch was attended by many businessmen and politicians, and the leaders of the CFBCI congratulated the hotel’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Basilio Yap, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Emilio Yap III, and wished that the Manila Hotel will continue to attract more guests from home and abroad with its unique and elegant tradition and that it will continue to contribute to the country’s economic and tourism successes.
