On 17 June 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) participated in the “Kumustahan 2025” an annual event organized by the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) to honor its partner institutions and companies that continue to support its indigent yet very deserving students. The heartwarming event with the theme “Pagpaparangal at Pasasalamat” was successfully held at the historic Manila Metropolitan Theater.

On behalf of CFBCI, Vice President Antonio Tan, Director Richard Alviar, Vice Chairman Ramon Cheng, and English Secretary Mexica Bausa attended the occasion, along with hundreds of scholarship benefactors and individual donors.

In his welcome remarks and inspirational address, Atty. Domingo Y. Reyes, President of PLM, expressed his overflowing gratitude for the consistent support of third-party institutions and companies throughout the 60 years of existence of the university. As PLM celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, he is looking forward for continued friendship with these groups to turn the ‘distant dreams’ of marginalized youth into ‘live realities.’

Since 2009, CFBCI has been providing scholarships to the students of PLM. CFBCI may be a business organization, but it also actively stands firm with the belief that our society could only thrive if our youth will be empowered through education. Through its Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program, CFBCI has made a lasting legacy in the lives of at least 450 graduates who are now meaningfully employed.

All in all, the banquet was a vibrant celebration of camaraderie, charity, and friendship. Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous dinner as speeches were delivered and some entertainment was given from the talented students and alumni of PLM. Definitely, CFBCI will continue to support the university in its unwavering ambition to transform our society into a community where people are enlightened to help one another.

菲華工商總會訊：馬尼拉市立大學（Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, PLM）為表揚長年支持清寒優秀學子之各界夥伴單位，於六月十七日（星期二）下午，假馬尼拉大都會劇院（Manila Metropolitan Theater），隆重舉行一年一度「（二零二五年）問候獎助學金夥伴活動」。本年度主題為「表揚及感謝」（Pagpaparangal at Pasasalamat）。本會應邀出席此充滿溫馨與感恩氛圍之盛會，與其他支助獎助學金的卅一個企業基金會及社會賢達齊聚一堂，共襄善舉。

本次活動由本會副理事長兼文教委員會督導陳華民偕同文教委員會主任曾煥眉、副主任莊南文，以及西文秘書梅西卡代表出席，展現本會對教育公益事業一貫堅定之支持與重視。

馬尼拉市立大學校長多明戈‧雷耶斯律師（Atty. Domingo Y. Reyes）於致詞時，誠摯感謝所有合作夥伴及企業單位，六十年來始終如一，攜手扶助弱勢學子，讓無數「遙不可及的夢想」化為「觸手可及的現實」。他並期盼未來持續與各界同仁深化合作，共同為貧困優秀青年開創更多成長與成就之契機。

當晚，除備有豐盛晚宴外，並有馬尼拉市立大學師生與校友帶來的精彩表演，氣氛熱烈溫馨，賓主盡歡。支助獎助學金的企業單位代表及個人善士無不感佩於馬尼拉市立大學六十載來堅守教育平權之使命，並深表願與該校攜手為更多學子打造光明前途。

本會自二零零九年起，透過「點亮未來」助學方案，持續資助大岷區及外省地區多所公立大學清寒學子，秉持「興商濟世，教育為本」之宗旨，積極投入社會公益。迄今，已有近五百位「點亮未來」助學方案受助生順利完成學業，並在各行各業發光發熱，成為家庭與社會的重要棟樑，足證本會善行義舉已在菲社會播下希望與改變之種子。本會未來將一如既往，持續支持馬尼拉市立大學及各類教育公益事業，冀望透過教育點燃青年希望，締造社會和諧互助、共榮共好的美好願景。
