On 28 October 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) attended the Philippine Chinese Press Club’s 2024 Induction Ceremony and Filipino-Chinese Journalists Amity Club’s 5th Anniversary Celebration and 2nd Induction Ceremony at Lido de Paris Hotel, Binondo. Mr. James Yao, a former personnel of CFBCI Secretariat, and Ms. Wong Hok Ming, a veteran media personality, were honored to be the new leaders of the two clubs. The celebration was hosted by Mr. Wang Limin and Ms. Huang Xueming.

Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro, President of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and Mr. Antonio Tan, President of the Philippine-Chinese Charitable Association, Inc., administered the oath of office to the new officers of the two associations, and our President, Mr. Samuel Lee Uy, was invited to be the keynote speaker at the ceremony. Mr. Raymond Bagatsing (Mayoral Candidate), Chikee Ocampo (Vice Mayoral Candidate), and Mr. Leonel Abasola, President of National Press Club of the Philippines, were also present at the ceremony with other dignitaries and leaders of prominent Filipino-Chinese organizations.

President Samuel Lee Uy firstly congratulated the newly inducted officers of the two associations on behalf of CFBCI. He pointed out that being a “journalist” is a very noble profession, one that is respected and trusted by the public. He also mentioned that the Philippine Chinese Press Club is composed of journalists from five major Chinese newspapers in the country, and since its establishment, the two associations have made outstanding contributions to champion the freedom of the press, the enhancement of the professional standards of Chinese journalists, the welfare of media workers, and strengthening the solidarity of the Chinese community.

Moreover, President Samuel Lee Uy also praised the new leaders for their talent and dedication, and is confident that under their wise leadership and the joint efforts of all members, the two associations would be able to flourish and conquer greater heights. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Philippine Chinese Press Club and the major media organizations in the Chinese community for their strong support to our social welfare projects. We hope that we can continue to work together for the prosperity and development of our country and society, and for the harmony and unity of the Chinese community,” President Samuel Lee Uy said.

Afterwards, President Samuel Lee Uy presented on behalf of CFBCI, a P200,000 donation to the welfare fund of the associations. The ceremony eventually came to a successful end, with everyone celebrating the triumph of the two associations and wishing them a brighter future. Again, congratulations to the new leaders of the Philippine Chinese Press Club and Filipino-Chinese Journalists Amity Club.

菲華工商總會訊：菲律濱華文記者會二零二四年度職員暨菲華傳媒工作者聯誼會成立五週年洎第二屆職員就職典禮，於二零二四年十月廿八日（星期一）中午，假座馬尼拉華人區王彬大連海鮮酒樓隆重舉行。曾擔任本會秘書處同仁姚輝堅及資深媒體人黃學鳴分別榮膺兩會新屆領導人，實至名歸，可喜可賀。

慶典大會由王利民、黃學鳴擔任共同主席，菲華商聯總會理事長施東方博士、菲律濱華僑善舉總會董事長盧祖蔭分別為兩會新屆職員監誓並訓誨，本會理事長黃書瑋受邀擔任大會主講人；馬尼拉市長候選人Raymond Bagatsing，副市長候選人Pablo Chikee Ocampo和菲律濱全國記者會會長Leonel Abasola及華社各友好團體代表等出席慶典，場面盛大而熱鬧。

理事長黃書瑋致詞時，首先代表本會向兩會新屆職員致以熱烈的祝賀。他指出，「記者」是一份非常崇高的職業，被社會大眾尊重和信賴；並呼籲媒體朋友在菲中關係敏感之時期，盡量協助各個僑團大力宣傳我華僑華人對菲律濱經濟、文化、教育及社會公益等各方面所作出的巨大貢獻，以促進菲中兩國人民間的情誼。並表示菲律濱華文記者會是由本國五大華報的新聞從業人員所組成，兩會自成立以來，爭取新聞自由、提升華文記者專業水準，並且以誠摯熱情的服務為媒體工作人員謀求福利，同時為華人權益的保障，為華社的團結進步，做出了突出的貢獻，成為本國輿論界的重要力量。

理事長黃書瑋也讚揚姚輝堅及黃學鳴才華橫溢、待人誠懇，是華社難得的領袖人才，並深信兩會在他們的英明領導及全體成員的共同努力下，會務必定能蒸蒸日上、更上一層樓。並藉此機會，感謝華文記者會與華社各大媒體，對本會的各項社會公益活動所給予的大力支持。希望今後，大家能夠繼續密切合作，為我們國家和社會的繁榮發展，為華社和諧團結共同努力。

今屆本會領導同仁再次共同聯合捐贈菲幣二十萬元，作為菲律濱華文記者會福利金，現場由理事長黃書瑋及出席領導同仁代表捐獻。當日，賓客雲集、高朋滿座，主辦單位特別準備了摸彩助興，活動最後在共同主席王利民致謝詞後，圓滿劃下句點。
