To welcome the Year of the Wood Snake and celebrate the “50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations Between the Philippines and China,” the City Government of Manila, Manila Chinatown Development Council, Manila Department of Tourism, Culture, and Arts, Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization, and the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation jointly organized a Chinese New Year Countdown Fireworks Display and Drone Show on January 28, 11:00 PM, at Manila Jones Bridge. More than ten thousand people from all walks of life and the media came to witness the shows.
His Excellency Huang Xilian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Philippines, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna, Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto, other government officials, and representatives of the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation were present to join the festivities. CFBCI President Samuel Lee Uy and Corporate Secretary Henry Go, both dressed in red, were invited to the event.
On the New Year's Eve, Ambassador Huang Xilian, Mayor Lacuna, and Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro, President of FFCCCII, presided over the “Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arc” lighting ceremony. Mayor Lacuna, on behalf of the City Government of Manila, wished everyone a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year and thanked them for their continued support of the City's activities.
As the countdown reached its end, fireworks blossomed in the night sky, illuminating the magnificent Filipino-Chinese Friendship Bridge. Lively music was also played, complimenting the breath-taking spectacle of colorful and bright lights. Afterwards, a drone show made its debut in Manila with a total of 600 drones lifting off at the same time, arranging themselves in the air to create various visually stunning patterns. The fireworks display and the drone show, which seemed to bring us into a different world, were captured on camera and shared with friends and family, creating a joyous atmosphere welcoming the Year of the Snake.
菲華工商總會訊：為迎接即將到來乙巳蛇年暨菲中建交五十週年，由馬尼拉市政府，馬尼拉華人區發展委員會，馬尼拉觀光、文化、藝術局，華人區描籠涯組織及菲中愛心基金，於一月廿八日（星期三）下午十一時，假岷倫洛瓊斯大橋，聯合舉辦春節倒計時音樂煙花秀及無人機匯演，現場聚集上萬民眾和媒體，氣氛熱鬧非凡。
中國駐菲特命全權大使黃溪連閣下、馬尼拉市市長拉庫娜、副市長尤素福、馬尼拉第三區眾議員蔡促依、馬尼拉市府行政官洪英鐘、華人區發展委員會主席蔡臻蔚、華人區描籠涯組織主席劉少強及菲中愛心基金社團成員代表，均到場共襄盛舉。本會理事長黃書瑋及立案秘書吳恆利身著紅衣，受邀出席。
除夕夜活動在黃溪連大使、拉庫娜市長及菲華商聯總會理事長施東方博士等人共同主持「菲中友誼門」亮燈儀式後正式開始。
市長拉庫娜致詞時，首先代表馬尼拉市政府向大家祝賀新春快樂、恭喜發財，並且感謝大家長期支持馬尼市政府的各項活動。
伴隨著中國新年零點倒計時的結束，在菲中友誼橋上煙花隨著音樂旋律的高低起伏在夜空中綻放，五彩繽紛，層次豐富多樣，讓來自大岷區各地及鄰近城市的觀眾大開眼界。緊隨，無人機匯演在馬尼拉首次亮相，六百架無人機同時升起，在空中進行排列組合，呈現各式圖案，還加入燈光效果，視覺上相當震撼，除了以迎接乙巳蛇年為主題外，最主要還是以慶祝菲中建交五十週年及強調菲中友誼長存；最後又以精彩的音樂煙花作為結束。
巴石河兩岸萬頭攢動，歡呼和喝彩聲連連，民眾人手一機，將這漫天色彩繽紛，精彩絕倫的煙花秀及彷彿將大家帶入夢幻世界的無人機匯演拍攝下來分享給親朋好友，現場洋溢著歡樂氣氛，一起迎來吉祥喜慶的蛇年。
