To promote traditional Chinese martial arts culture and inspire the youth to explore their potential in Wushu, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), in collaboration with the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation, successfully held the opening ceremony of the “CFBCI Youth Wushu Competition” on October 12, 2025, at the Lucky Chinatown Atrium.

The ceremony began with the grand entrance of athletes and judges, officially marking the start of the competition. Eight martial arts teams enthusiastically joined this year’s tournament, each exuding high energy and determination as they prepared to showcase their skills and discipline.

A distinguished judging panel was introduced to ensure professionalism and impartiality throughout the event. In his opening remarks, CFBCI President Samuel Lee Uy highlighted that martial arts go beyond athletic performance; they embody culture, spirit, and moral cultivation. He said, “True victory lies not only in winning matches, but in the perseverance, respect, and personal growth you gain through training and competition.” He encouraged the young athletes to face every challenge with courage, reminding them that every participant is a winner in their own life journey.

Hon. Jefferson Lau, Manila 3rd District Councilor, lauded the event for its positive impact on youth development and cultural preservation. He emphasized that martial arts education strengthens not only the body but also discipline, respect, and a sense of cultural identity. He expressed hope that more young people will take part in future tournaments to uphold Chinese heritage and bring it to greater heights.

Representing the organizing committee, Councilor Lau led the athletes’ oath, encouraging competitors to uphold sportsmanship and teamwork. Wu Jialong, an alumnus of the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation, administered the judges’ oath, underscoring fairness and professionalism in officiating.

To express gratitude, the organizing committee presented appreciation plaques and certificates to the eight participating martial arts teams for their active support. Special recognition was also given to CFBCI and Lucky Chinatown for their continued commitment to promoting youth martial arts and cultural heritage.

The Women’s Lion Dance Team of the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation then delivered a vibrant performance, lifting the crowd’s energy and excitement. Shortly after, CFBCI officers and special guests jointly struck the ceremonial gong three times, its resonant sound signaling the official start of the competition and filling the venue with applause and cheers.

Following the ceremony, guests, organizers, and athletes gathered for commemorative photos, capturing this memorable milestone. The participants then took their positions, ready to compete with vigor and passion. Their impressive displays of wushu artistry captivated both judges and spectators alike, drawing shoppers to stop and admire the graceful strength and youthful energy of the competitors.

菲華工商總會訊：為弘揚中華傳統武術文化，激發青少年對武術運動的興趣與潛能，本會聯合菲律濱嶺南國術總會，於十月十二日（星期日）上午十時，假馬尼拉市華人區美加廣場中庭，隆重舉辦二○二五年「工商盃」青少年武術比賽開幕儀式。本會理事長黄書瑋，菲律濱嶺南國術總會理事長、亦是本會副理事長許長泰，馬尼拉市第三區市議員劉少強，菲律濱嶺南國術總會校友、亦是大岷區開發署特勤隊長吳嘉龍，菲華新聯公會會長施玉容，美加廣場商場經理Paola Camille Langit，菲律濱嶺南國術總會副理事長關燦鑫，菲律濱嶺南國術總會榮譽顧問楊國榮，菲律濱嶺南志願消防隊副理事長黃扶西，中西學院校長蔡蕊沓，北黎剎育仁中學校長蔡莉莎，及參賽隊代表等嘉賓親臨現場，為賽事增光添彩。本會合作夥伴，菲華電視台及菲中電視台現場跟拍，全程記錄比賽的精彩瞬間。

活動由李美齡擔任主持人，首先宣佈選手與裁判團進場，開幕式正式開始。本屆賽事共有八支武術隊伍參賽，分別來自：菲律濱嶺南國術總會武術隊、菲律濱中西學院武術隊、菲律濱僑中學院武術隊、北黎剎育仁中學武術隊、菲律濱仙朝峨體育會龍獅武術隊、拉古坂熊貓龍獅武術隊、天主教培德中學武術隊及計順市菲華中學武術隊。各隊選手精神奕奕，整裝待發，為接下來的賽事全力以赴，一展身手。

今年裁判陣容堅強，由薛伍強擔任總裁判長，柯嘉鵬為主審，高銘祥與洪培強出任副總裁判長。評分裁判成員則包括：Ms. Victoria Canon、施俊仁、Ms. Michaela Fernandez、丁永祥與林景漢，展現比賽的專業與公正性。

本會理事長黃書瑋致詞中表示，武術不僅是體育競技，更是一項融合文化、精神與品格的修練。他指出：「真正的勝利不僅是贏得比賽，更在於你們在訓練與競賽過程中所獲得的毅力、尊重與成長。」他勉勵所有選手以正面態度迎接挑戰，無論成績如何，都是自己人生的勝利者。

馬尼拉市第三區市議員劉少強致詞時，讚揚本次比賽對青少年身心發展及文化傳承的積極貢獻，他強調，武術教育不僅能強健體魄，更能培養青少年的紀律與文化認同感，期盼未來有更多青年參與其中，承襲傳統、邁向國際。並代表大會為全體選手監誓，鼓勵大家發揮團隊精神、全力以赴。菲律濱嶺南國術總會校友吳嘉龍則為裁判團監誓，強調比賽裁決的公平、公正與專業。

大會向八支參賽武術隊伍致贈感謝盾牌及獎狀，表彰他們對活動的積極支持與參與。菲律濱嶺南國術總會亦特別頒發感謝盾牌予本會及美加廣場，以肯定本會及美加廣場在推動青年武術運動與文化傳承方面的長期努力與卓越貢獻。
