On 04 October 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) in collaboration with the Eugene Torre Chess Foundation, hosted the 2025 “CFBCI Chess Tournament” at the CFBCI Auditorium, Sky 1 Tower, Binondo, Manila.
Over 100 young chess enthusiasts from 18 Chinese schools and Filipino public/private schools gathered to showcase their skills. This event aimed to foster teamwork and strategic thinking among youth while promoting cultural exchange and friendship between Filipino and Chinese teenagers.
Participating schools included: Bagong Silangan High School, Chiang Kai Shek College, Don Alejandro Roces Sr. HS, Gideon Academy, Grace Christian College, Hope Christian High School, Jubilee Christian Academy, La Trinidad College, Light Christian Academy, Manila Patriotic School, Inc., MGC New Life Christian Academy, Northern Yorklin School, Phil Institute of Quezon City, Philippine Chen Kuang High School, St. Mary’s College of Valenzuela, St. Stephen’s High School, Tiong Se Academy, Inc., and Uno High School.
The competition adopted a Grand Prix points system for 15-minute rapid matches, divided into three divisions: Elementary (Grades 4–6), Junior High (Grades 7–9), and Senior High (Grades 10–12). Each school may field one team per category, composed of two to three players, competing across six intense rounds.
After four hours of intense competition marked by focused concentration, strategic precision, and fierce intellectual battles, the team rankings were determined by the cumulative points earned by each school’s participants. The awarding ceremony commenced promptly at 4:00 PM, with Alex B. Marquez, Secretary General of the Eugene Torre Chess Foundation, announcing the overall team winners.

Our association remains committed to organizing similar events, with the hope of uniting the younger generation through the universal language of chess — nurturing future leaders endowed with strategic vision and a deep sense of cross-cultural understanding.
菲華工商總會訊：本會與尤金·托雷國際象棋基金會（Eugene Torre Chess Foundation）於十月四日（星期六）假本會八樓禮堂，聯合舉辦二○二五年「工商盃」國際象棋比賽。共十八所華校及菲公私立學校百餘位國際象棋好手齊聚一堂切磋棋藝，展現出象棋運動在校園中蓬勃發展的盛況。此次賽事旨在推廣青少年的團隊合作精神與策略思維，並促進菲中兩國青少年間的文化交流與友誼，
參賽學校包括：聖公會中學、尚一中學、中西學院、嘉南中學、中正學院、新生佳音學院、馬尼剌愛國中學、計順市菲華中學、菲律濱基督教靈惠學院、基中書院、晨光中學、北黎剎育仁中學、基立學院、義光基督學院，以及Bagong Silangan中學、La Trinidad College、Don Alejandro Roces Sr. Science-Technology中學和聖瑪莉大學(Saint Mary’s Angels College of Valenzuela)。本屆賽事採用Grand Prix積分制與十五分鐘快棋對戰規則，分為小學組（四至六年級）、初中組（七至九年級）及高中組（十至十二年級）三組進行六輪對戰。各校每組可派出一隊（二至三人）參賽。
所有參賽選手在歷經四個小時沉心靜氣，屏息凝神，步步為營，鬥智鬥勇的激烈賽事後，由各校選手積分決定團體賽名次。隨即於下午四時舉辦頒獎典禮，由尤金·托雷國際象棋基金會秘書長Alex B. Marquez宣佈得勝名單。本會理事長黃書瑋，象棋特級大師Eugene Torre，立案秘書吳恆利，常務理事留牡丹、洪海濱、葉啟龍等擔任頒獎嘉賓，向個人及優勝團隊頒發奬牌、獎章和獎金。茲將團隊冠、亞、季軍榮譽榜公佈如下：
