On 13 July 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) officially welcomed its new batch of 48 scholars for Academic Year 2025–2026 during a special orientation at CFBCI Auditorium, Sky 1 Tower, Binondo, Manila. The gathering served as more than just a formality; it was a heartfelt celebration of new beginnings, shared aspirations, and collective hope. With the presence of CFBCI officers led by President Samuel Lee Uy, education committee members guided by Director/Chairman Richard Alviar, current scholars, parents of new scholars, and alumni, the event was filled with words of encouragement and inspiring stories that set the tone for the scholars’ academic journey ahead.
The orientation of new beneficiaries of the Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program began with inspiring messages from President Uy and Director Alviar, and was immediately followed by the discussion of the rules and regulations of the scholarship program. Two alumni from the scholarship program led the elaboration of these rules namely, Ms. Melonick Casipe and Ms. Fatima Supan who are now professionals in their respective fields. A few current scholars also shared their positive experiences as beneficiaries of this program, attesting that aside from providing financial support, CFBCI genuinely cares for its scholars and aims to offer a holistic training to equip them for their future roles and careers.
All the new scholars listened attentively while their parents also joined the orientation to express their utmost support and guidance to their children. “We do not ask anything in return, we just wanted to help in ways we can to make our country’s future brighter,” these are the kind words of President Uy which resonated deeply to the new scholars. The orientation ended successfully with a group photo opportunity.
All the students are excited in their journey as scholars of CFBCI, who will be molded holistically through the organization’s projects and activities including its monthly values formation seminar also known as the “Life Skills and Motivational Seminar.”
Since 2009, the Pagharap sa Pangarap College Scholarship Program has been a beacon of opportunity, empowering financially challenged yet determined students to pursue higher education in State Universities both within and outside Metro Manila. Rooted in the belief that education is a powerful equalizer, the program has consistently provided not just financial assistance but also mentorship and values formation. Through this long-standing initiative, CFBCI has opened doors for countless young individuals, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty, realize their dreams, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.
