On 25 June 2025, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) held a meaningful turnover ceremony of school supplies at Dagat-Dagatan Elementary School in Navotas City. On behalf of CFBCI, the following officers and members attended the turnover ceremony: Honorary President Stephen Tan Sia, Vice President Willy Chuakimtong, Vice Chairman Gregorio Lagamayo, Plenary Member Bernardo Ngo, Plenary Member Sheryl Jane Tiu, and Plenary Member Ramon Wong.

The event was part of CFBCI’s “Handog Balik Eskwela Project," which commits to supporting inclusive access to education and uplifting underprivileged students by equipping them with the basic tools they need to learn and succeed in school. Aside from Dagat-Dagatan ES, the donation drive also catered to the pupils of San Roque Elementary School in Navotas City. This year, CFBCI donated a total of 1,000 packs of school supplies to both schools.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco, whose support highlighted the importance of partnerships between government and private organizations in promoting youth development. Dr. Sonia M. Padernal, School Head of Dagat-Dagatan ES, teachers, and Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA) officers also attended the ceremony. In his speech, Mayor Tiangco emphasized the significance of supporting the younger generation in their educational journey for education not only uplifts individuals but shapes the future of communities for the better.

Then, Honorary President Sia was called on stage to give an inspiring message on behalf of the organization. In his speech, he expressed CFBCI’s full support of DepEd’s agenda to establish a “Bansang Makabata” by extensively promoting the right of every Filipino to “quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education.” Afterwards, CFBCI officers and members personally handed over the school supplies to the students, bringing smiles to the faces of the young beneficiaries and their teachers.

This donation drive forms part of CFBCI’s broader advocacy to foster education and social responsibility within communities. Through initiatives like this, the organization aims to promote a culture of generosity and create a lasting impact in the lives of Filipino youth.
