On 23 December 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) in cooperation with the Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization (MCBO) organized a rice donation drive, also known as “Pamaskong Handog Project,” in benefit of more than 10,000 indigent households in the third district of Manila. The rice distribution was successfully held at San Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza in Binondo, and was graced with the attendance of various Filipino-Chinese community groups. On behalf of CFBCI, Corporate Secretary Henry Go and Vice Chairman Ramon Cheng participated in the event.

To ensure the orderliness of the distribution, the Manila Police District Station 11 assisted in the project. The elderly and the disabled were given priority and the rice donation drive went on smoothly. Mr. Jefferson Lau, Chairman of MCBO, gave a short gratitude speech in which he thanked everyone who expressed their all-out support to this project. Hopefully, this little gesture of kindness will rekindle the hope among our brothers and sisters, and make them feel the spirit of Christmas even more.

For the third consecutive year, CFBCI has been supporting this project, among its other social welfare efforts to ease the burden of our poor kababayans. Among its consistent partners is MCBO which has also been a strong advocate for positive change in our society. This yuletide season, may we all propagate kindness and compassion to our countrymen, especially those in need.

菲華工商總會訊：本會立案秘書吳恆利、常務理事莊南文，於十二月廿三日（星期一）下午，代表本會出席馬尼拉市華人區描籠涯主席協會（MCBO），假岷倫洛花園口廣場所舉辦的聖誕節濟貧贈米活動，總共有來自馬尼拉市第三選區的轄區：岷倫洛區、聖沓古律斯區、武敏直區及溪亞婆區等地，一百廿三個描籠涯的一萬一千戶家庭受惠，此次活動是由馬尼拉市政府、馬尼拉華人區描籠涯主席協會主辦，所捐贈的一萬多包每袋五公斤大米是由本會、華社多個主要社團及熱心人士所聯合捐贈，讓菲律濱同胞感受到來自華社的愛心。

當天下午，花園口廣場人潮如湧，來自馬尼拉市第三選區的居民，依照各自區域排好隊伍，禮讓年長者及殘障人士優先排隊；岷市第十一分局的警察及馬尼拉市華人區描籠涯幹部、巡邏員警也都到場協助維持秩序及大米發放工作。

劉少強主席致詞時，代表馬尼拉市華人區描籠涯協會感謝所有捐贈及參與此次聖誕節濟貧贈米活動的熱心社團，期盼大家能夠繼續支持這項有意義的活動，並且祝福大家聖誕節快樂、新年如意。並現場向所有贊助此次活動的熱心社團及個人頒發感謝狀。接著井然有序地分發大米。

本會長期積極參與馬尼拉市政府、馬尼拉市華人區描籠涯主席協會的各項救災扶貧慈善活動，盡己之力，為菲華社會普羅大眾，特別是居於社會底層的菲律濱貧苦兄弟奉獻愛心。本會已連續三年響應馬尼拉市華人區描籠涯主席協會所舉辦的聖誕節濟貧贈米活動，藉此向馬尼拉市民眾表達聖誕節的問候，並期盼大家能渡過一個豐足愉快的聖誕佳節。
