On 27 November 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) attended the “Overseas Citizen Safety Seminar" organized by the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City. On behalf of the organization, Vice President Paul Yeung and Vice President Henry Lo Lim attended the said seminar co-organized by the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII). The seminar was attended by Mr. Wang Yue, Counselor and Consul General of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Mr. Zhao Lei, Military Counselor, leaders of the Chinese community, business leaders, and international students.

In his empowering speech, Mr. Wang Yue emphasized that it is one of the important duties of the Embassy to protect the lives and properties of overseas Chinese citizens and Chinese nationals, and hoped to further enhance the security of our overseas compatriots through collaboration with national government agencies.

With that, in the seminar, consular officials of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines discussed the “Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Consular Protection and Assistance”. Moreover, officials from the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) and the Bureau of Immigration also came provided practical knowledge to prevent kidnapping cases and the latest visa and immigration policies of the Philippines. A productive open forum was also facilitated to address the questions of the audience.

Nearing towards the end of the seminar, the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines distributed the “Guide to Chinese Consular Protection and Assistance” to all attendees, which contains safety reminders and emergency contact numbers. All the attendees appreciated the seminar, as the topics helped them to attain enhanced personal safety awareness. CFBCI will continue to cooperate with the Embassy and the national security agencies to maintain peace and enhance the protection of our brothers and sisters.

菲華工商總會訊：本會副理事長楊良田及副理事長林天德，於十一月廿七日（星期三）下午三時，應邀出席由中國駐菲律濱大使館聯合菲律濱中國商會假馬加智市馬尼拉都喜天麗酒店（Dusit Thani Manila）Mayuree宴會廳所舉辦的「海外公民安全知識」專題講座。中國駐菲律濱大使館參贊兼總領事王悅、警務參贊趙雷，華社有關團體領袖，中資企業負責人及留學生代表約三百人出席參加。

中國駐菲律濱大使館參讚兼總領事王悅致詞時，強調了保護海外中國公民、華人華僑的生命和財產安全是大使館的重要職責之一，期盼透過類似有意義的活動提高大家的安全防護意識，並且增強應對風險的能力，讓每位海外同胞都能更好的保護自己。

講座中，中國駐菲律濱大使館領事官員介紹「中華人民共和國領事保護與協助條例」內容，結合今年領保案件規律特點講解在菲律濱求助報警注意事項，警務聯絡官結合案例介紹中菲執法合作有關成果及在菲公民個人防護要點。菲律濱國警署反綁架大隊（Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group簡稱PNP-AKG）和移民局官員也分別先後上台講授反綁架實用知識和菲最新簽證及出入境政策，並現場就大家關心的各項問題一一進行解答。

活動結束前，中國駐菲律濱大使館分發了「中國領事保護與協助指南」手冊給所有與會人士，手冊內資料包含各項安全建議及緊急聯絡電話等。

現場與會者對當天的講座贊賞有加，主題切合實際，增強了個人的安全意識和信心，受益匪淺。本會領導同仁願配合大使館和國家治安機構，共同維護和加強社會治安問題。
