On 12 October 2024, Saturday, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) in cooperation with Ford Tractor Philippines Inc. and the Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization conducted a community feeding project and rice donation drive at San Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza in Binondo, Manila. Over 400 indigent residents of Manila were able to receive a warm meal, bread, egg, and two-kilogram rice packet during the outreach which was also held in celebration of CFBCI President Samuel Lee Uy’s 69th birthday.

Before 8:00 a.m., residents of all ages began to flock at San Lorenzo Ruiz Plaza and were assisted to line up properly. Prior to the distribution, President Samuel Uy gave a short opening speech emphasizing the essence of the project － to highlight the values of compassion, kindness, and humility. He assured all residents in queue will receive a warm meal, bread, egg, and two-kilogram rice packet, thus, everyone must patiently wait for their turn.

Chairman Jefferson Lau of the Manila Chinatown Barangay Organization was also given the opportunity to address the residents. In a short message, the expressed his gratitude to the organization for such an altruistic effort in benefit of his constituents. Subsequently, the distribution started and officers and members of CFBCI happily assisted in the process. More than 400 residents benefited in this cause who all went home with huge smiles on their faces. Overall, the event was conducted smoothly, beaming with positivity and camaraderie. After the event, CFBCI officers and members shared a sumptuous brunch at a nearby cafe.

Since its establishment in 1998, CFBCI persistently collaborates with government agencies, institutions, organizations, and like-minded individuals to extend assistance and empower our disadvantaged kababayans from various areas in the country.

菲華工商總會訊：十月十二日（星期六）上午，由理事長黃書瑋親自率領本會十幾位領導同仁，假馬尼拉市岷倫洛華人區花園口舉辦施粥贈大米，惠施貧困活動，受到馬尼拉華人區描籠涯組織主席劉少強的全力支持，派出描籠涯成員現場協助佈置場地，維持秩序，使該慈善活動得以井然有序地進行。

當天清晨七時許，菲律濱福特拖拉機公司(Ford Tractor, Philippines, Inc. )的一輛貨車停靠在岷倫洛華人區花園口，工人忙著卸下車上的大米，廣場一隅，工作人員正忙碌著裝盛一碗碗的雞肉粥，空氣中散發著陣陣粥香，週圍擠滿來自馬尼拉市第三區的男女老幼，手持米券靜候一旁。馬尼拉華人區描籠涯協劉少強主席親臨現場協助維持秩序，將民眾安置排隊整齊。

待一切準備就緒，理事長黃書瑋拿起麥克風向大家問候，並說：「取之於社會，用之於社會」是我們華人優良的傳統美德。昨天是本人的生日，非常榮幸能夠和大家一起渡過這人生中非常重要的一天。今天特別準備了菲式雞粥、水煮蛋、麵包及大米要送給大家。祝你們身心康泰，闔家平安。民眾紛紛鼓掌，並向理事長黃書瑋送上生日祝賀。劉少強主席致詞代表受惠民眾感謝本會及菲律濱福特拖拉機公司的善心義舉，並期盼日後會有更多善心人士或團體關懷這些基層民眾。

簡單儀式後，本會領導同仁開始有條不紊地將熱粥、大米等送到等候一旁的民眾手上。拿到粥的男女老少，有的在一旁或坐或站著吃得津津有味，心裡充滿歡喜、感恩和滿足。當天共派發了四百多份熱粥，惠及華人區及鄰近社區的基層菲同胞。
