In preparation for the new academic year, ensuring a safe learning environment for young students is a top priority. Thus, from the beginning of July to the end of August 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI), in collaboration with the Dynamic Alliance Volunteer Firefighters, visited public schools and Chinese schools in Manila City during several weekends to carry out its dengue prevention campaign, spraying highly effective and non-toxic anti-mosquito agents to destroy the breeding sites of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes within school vicinities.

The rainy season starts in June, which is also the peak season for mosquitoes to reproduce. The higher the temperature and humidity, the more pervasive mosquitoes are. Therefore, by eliminating their breeding sources like stagnant water, there will be no vector mosquitoes; without vector mosquitoes, the spread of dengue fever can be prevented.

This year, our Aksyon Kontra Dengue Project has served a total of eleven (11) schools, namely: Chiang Kai Shek College, Hope Christian High School, St. Stephen’s High School, P. Guevarra Elementary School, Tiong Se Academy, Philippine Institute of Quezon City, Philippine Chung Hua School, Lorenzo Ruiz Academy Manila, Philippine Academy of Sakya, Light Christian Academy, and Northern Yorklin Chinese School.

CFBCI would like to extend its utmost gratitude and appreciation to Mr. Nixon Co, Founder and Head of the Dynamic Alliance Volunteer Firefighters, for collaborating with CFBCI to facilitate the 2024 Aksyon Kontra Dengue Project. Moreover, we would like to thank our supportive officers and members led by President Samuel Lee Uy for personally visiting the schools and meeting the school adminitration.

菲華工商總會訊：六月起本國開始進入雨季，也是蚊子產卵的高峰時期，氣溫和濕度愈高，便愈受蚊子歡迎。應注意：「沒有孳生源，就沒有病媒蚊；沒有病媒蚊，就沒有登革熱」。積水是滋生蚊蟲的溫床。要做到完全沒有蚊子便要注意家居衛生，時刻保持居住環境乾爽，定期清理花盆底或瓶中的積水，才能杜絕蚊患。

本會於七月初旬開始至八月底，訂期於週末前往大岷區各公立學校和華校開展預防登革熱運動，噴灑高效低毒滅蚊劑，消滅致病伊蚊繁殖地，根除傳染源，為開學做準備，保護在校師生及民眾免受登革熱的威脅。

今年共向十一所學校：P. Guevara Elementary School公立小學，中正學院，聖軍中學，義光基督學院，北黎剎育仁中學，中西學院 ，能仁中學，聖公會中學，三巴樂中華中學，嘉南中學，計順市菲華中學等提供服務。

在此特別感謝本會理事許純維參與的動力聯盟消防志願隊(Dynamic Alliance Volunteer Firefighters)志願消防員們，為本次預防登革熱運動提供服務。本會理事長黃書瑋，董事曾煥眉，常務理事許有福、林文龍、許福星、葉啟龍等，分別前往各學校協助及視察工作，受到各校領導熱情接待及歡迎。
