On 17 July 2024, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) Trade and Commerce Committee successfully facilitated its “3-in-1 Seminar: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities on Trends in Real Estate Industries" at CFBCI Auditorium, Binondo, Manila. The seminar, held in partnership with Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF), Real Estate Hub (REHub) Inc., and BDO Unibank Inc., was packed with attendees coming from various backgrounds and professions.
Hosted by CFBCI English Secretary Mexica Bausa, the seminar officially began with welcome remarks delivered by CFBCI President Samuel Lee Uy in which he expressed the organization’s utmost pleasure to be of guidance in the beginning of the attendees’ real estate journey. He also thanked his hardworking colleagues behind the event’s success particularly Executive Vice President Gerald Uy Chan and Director George Go who are leaders of the organizing committee. President Uy also reminded the attendees that “money is just a tool, not the goal.” “There’s no problem with getting rich if that is what you want, but be clear with your purpose, and I am strongly hoping that you aim to do good with the blessings that you receive. Pay it forward,” he said.
After the president’s empowering speech, CFBCI Vice Chairman Richard Yao introduced the first speaker － Mr. Fermin A. Sta. Teresa Jr., Senior Vice President for Business Development Sector of Pag-IBIG Fund. The attendees listened eagerly as Mr. Sta. Teresa discussed the most recent offerings of Pag-IBIG Fund that aim to help Filipinos grow their hard-earned money and receive sufficient assistance to possess a decent home. He also encouraged all attendees to apply for the Pag-IBIG Fund Loyalty Card which they can use to avail competent discounts in various establishments. His talk was immediately followed by a short open forum and attendees asked some curious questions which were all answered by the speaker enthusiastically. Afterwards, a plaque of appreciation was awarded to the speaker by CFBCI officers.
The second speaker was introduced by a short video clip; everyone was as eager to listen to her as they did during the first talk. She was Dr. Mary Gaw So, the President of Real Estate Hub (REHub) Inc. and a renowned professional in the field of real estate sector with a long list of licenses and certifications. In her talk, Dr. So tackled the current state of the Philippine Real Estate Market in 2024 and why it is highly advised to pursue investments in the country nowadays. “It’s a dynamic, growing economy offering exciting opportunities for real estate investor,” Dr. So said. She also explained that taking calculated risks is a vital part of achieving positive outcomes in real estate, and motivated the attendees to take their shot towards success. A plaque of appreciation was also awarded to the speaker by CFBCI officers.
While the participants enjoyed a free delicious snack provided by CFBCI, Vice Chairman Ramon Uy introduced the third and last speaker － Mr. Alain Dimaguila, Unit Head of Direct Sales Channel of BDO Consumer Banking Home Loan. In his talk, Mr. Dimaguila focused on the topic of consumer lending and the specific loan offers of BDO Unibank Inc. The attendees listened closely as Mr. Dimaguila emphasized the bank’s commitment to build relationships with its clients and help them achieve their aspirations in life including home ownership. He ensured the attendees that the bank provides excellent guidance to clients in selecting the best financial service option that will cater to their needs because in BDO “we find ways,” he said. After the talk, a plaque of appreciation was also awarded to him by CFBCI officers.
Vice President Henry Lo Lim delivered the closing remarks, in which he said: “I hope that the knowledge that you acquired today inspires you to venture beyond your comfort zones and explore greater heights. Be brave, but not reckless. Be ambitious but keep your feet on the ground at the same time. Above all, achieve your dreams while helping others in need.”
All in all, the seminar was a huge success with the participants learning a lot of new information and insights on areas of shelter financing, real estate, and consumer lending. They also enjoyed the booths prepared by ReHUB and BDO where freebies were given and they can take nice videos using camera 360. 菲華工商總會訊：本會商務委員會為讓投資者理解房地產增值的關鍵因素和屋涯規劃，掌握房地產的核心知識行情，於七月十七日（星期三）下午一時卅分在本會八樓禮堂，舉辦主題為「掌握房地產行業趨勢的挑戰與機遇」的專題講座，邀請到來自政府機構、私營企業及金融界的三位房地產投資專家擔任主講人。共有近二百位華裔及菲律濱投資人到場聆聽，場面盛大、座無空席。
講座當天由本會理事長黃書瑋親自主持，西文秘書梅西卡擔任司儀，理事長黃書瑋致詞時說，本會很榮幸能夠舉辦此次的房地產投資講座，期盼大家能夠從中吸取到房地產投資信息及技巧，並且對承辦講座的本會商務委員會督導執行副理事長曾國強及主任董事吳金帛的辛勤付出表示肯定與讚揚。他同時提醒所有與會人士「金錢只是工具，不是目的」，想要發家致富是很正常，但鼓勵大家多做善事，造福社會。
