On last January 14, 2024, at three o’clock in the afternoon at the Lucky Chinatown Atrium, Manila, the Chinese Filipino Business Club, Inc. (CFBCI) represented by Honorary President Alejandro Co, Vice President Paul Yeung, Vice President Antonio Hilario, Vice President Vicente Co, Director Antonio Tan, and Vice Chairman Henry Tiu, joined the Eye Dotting Ceremony, and the 2024 Lion Mastery and Auspicious Dragon Blessing in partnership with the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation.

The mentioned pre-Chinese New Year event began with the striking of the gong by Mr. Vicente Co, President of the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation (also the Vice President of CFBCI), and Mr. Alejandro Co, President of the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Volunteer and Fire Rescue (also the Honorary President of CFBCI). The momentous occasion was graced by the presence of the heads of overseas Chinese organizations, Chinese schools, and other dignitaries.

Immediately after the event organizer recited the steps of eye-dotting, all the auspicious dragon and lions began to dance, marvelous gongs and drums vibrated, and the dancers performed enthusiastically, filling the atrium with a vibrant atmosphere. Overwhelmed with the spectacle before them, the audience burst into a loud round of applause.

Honorary President Alejandro Co, and Vice President Vicente Co each donated an auspicious dragon. Meanwhile, CFBCI President Stephen Sia, Vice Presidents Gerald Chan, Paul Yeung, Antonio Hilario, Jocelyn See, and Director Antonio Tan each donated a lion. In order to promote the Chinese traditional culture, support the heritage of folklore and sports, and to let the local public understand and appreciate the lion art, CFBCI has been organizing a Lion Dance Competition in collaboration with the Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Federation since 2013.

菲華工商總會訊：由菲律濱嶺南國術總會主辦的「嶺南展獅藝，祥龍呈瑞年」祥龍瑞獅點睛開光儀式，於元月十四日（星期日）下午三時，假馬尼拉市華人區美加廣場中庭隆重登場。本會名譽理事長許長安，副理事長楊良田、許文忠、許長泰，董事陳華民及常務理事許有福等人受邀為龍獅點睛開光。菲國政府要員及多個僑團首長、華校代表，均到場共襄盛舉。

開光儀式在菲律濱嶺南國術總會理事長許長泰（亦是本會副理事長）、菲律濱嶺南國術總會志願消防隊理事長許長安（亦是本會名譽理事長）等人擊鑼後正式開始。緊隨本會領導同仁及其他受邀政要、僑團首長、華校代表先後分別為菲律濱嶺南國術總會新購祥龍、瑞獅及金鼓等主持點睛開光儀式，整個過程在工作人員的協助下，有條不紊地按照大會司儀李美齡所念出的口訣進行點睛開光步驟，所有祥龍瑞獅在儀式後開始舞動表演，現場鑼鼓震天，舞者施出渾身解數，舞出熱鬧喜慶的氣氛，讓現場觀眾大開眼界，精湛演出更是博得滿堂彩。

屬南獅又稱醒獅派系的菲律濱嶺南國術總會，成立於一九五六年，現有成員百餘名，是目前僑社規模最齊全的武術社。這次該會共購進三條祥龍、二十頭瑞獅及數條彩帶龍等嶄新舞龍舞獅裝備，受到本會多位領導同仁慷慨捐贈：名譽理事長許長安，及副理事長許長泰各捐贈一條祥龍。理事長謝國萬（亦為菲律賓龍獅運動協會主席），副理事長曾國強、楊良田、許文忠（亦為菲律濱嶺南國術總會志願消防隊副理事長）、施茵茵（亦為菲律濱嶺南國術總會志願消防隊副理事長），董事陳華民各捐贈一頭瑞獅。

本會長期為弘揚中華傳統文化，支持傳承民俗體育，讓本土大眾了解及觀賞獅藝，自二○一三年起定期與菲律濱嶺南國術總會聯合舉辦「工商盃」傳統獅藝比賽，以宣揚我中國國粹。
